How many arrows do you take into the field?

A really good hunter told me about a buck he shot that he forgot to fill his quiver for. He took 2 arrows when the quiver held 5...
Shot one, hit liver.
Trailed the deer after a while, found it bedded down, shot second arrow and missed. Buck ran off.
Found buck again, still alive and tangled in a mess of briars, ripping himself to shreds. Without a third arrow he couldn’t do anything for the buck, so after giving more time and calling his buddy, who brought his own bow and a full quiver, they were finally able to dispatch the deer and end its struggle.
I heard this story before I bought my first hunting license. I always subscribe to 2=1, 1=0 in this and many things. My quiver holds 6, so I have 4 broadheads and 2 adders for small game.
That's why I carry 6 in my quiver all broadheads. 2 Rage 2 Slick Tricks and two Ramcats and they all fly great.

I’m wanting to add a judo or two to make quiver. The know a guy who killed a buck on his sixth shot. I’ve never ran short on arrows but ran short on ammo before. It wasn’t fun but lesson learned. Stump shooting is fun. I carry three tipped with broadheads. I’m not the guy who gets lucky enough to need a third shot at the same deer.

I go with 5 on the compound, 4 broadheads and 1 judo.
4 with the recurve, 3 broadheads and 1 judo

I have had one situation in all my years where i ran out w/4 in the quiver and could have used another. In my experiences it has been having that 2nd one ready to rock being most important and 3 is plenty 99% of the time.

Was thinking about this last night while sitting in a tree, how many arrows do you guys take into the field when out on a hunt? My bow quiver allows four arrows but I only take two arrows with me. My thinking is I highly doubt I would ever get multiple shots in a day so more than a couple arrows is just additional weight that can be cut out.

So how many do you guys take into the field and have you ever had the need to use them all while in a stand/ground blind/etc?
Three

4 broadheads and 1 judo.
I'm happy to read that so many of you guys are carrying a judo.
They are a great tool. Not just for shooting. Rake noisy leaves and sound like turkeys walking. Flick sticks away for a quiet place to step. Push multi flora rose out of your path. Use it to avoid brushing up against foliage which leaves residual scent. Never go in the woods without a judo.

I generally carry five. I’ve seen things get “western” a time or two so I know better than to only carry three!

I carry a handful of field points to shoot armadillos..... How would a judo point do on them?
Dillos are pretty tough. I've lost 3 mechanical broadheads to dillos......destroyed the blades

I carry four. I have used two on a couple of occasions and used three once to kill a buck in an outstanding display of archery non-markmanship (combined with deer stupidity)! :)
