How much have you spent on your saddle setup?

Saddle gear is all the rage right now so you get what you paid for it if you re-sell it.....right? In that case, I'm broke right now. I mean, I've broken even right now.

I don’t even know. It’s gotta be over $1000 though. I feel like I’ve bought and sold so many things in the last 2 years. Can’t keep track.

Too much but everytime I use it I'm happy. Having 2 young kids limits my time in the woods. Dealing with cheap gear just makes me angry and I end up sleeping in instead of hunting. I'm much more motivated to hunt now cause I'm actually excited about the gear I have.

The Mitten
Saddle/platform. 500.
Sold ladder stands. -300
Backpack. 100.
Some more scentlock stuff I "needed". 200
4 Helium sticks. 160
Started shooting my bow again. (Didn't want the xbow out of the saddle.)
New string. 70
EzV sight 120
Bow compress tool. 45
Ranch fair kit. 50
Need to finish my adult arrow build. Which means I need more arrows and broad heads.
Probably add another 50-60 for small misc. Stuff I picked up here and there.

Mine isn't all saddle. But it lead to me shooting my bow again. Which added some extra $$$ to the deal.
But it's okay. I'm gonna kill 2 monster bucks this year and stack the freezer. It's totally worth it........................

Oh yeah lol. Trust me I’m very good at buying stuff too. Believe it or not most of it sells almost as easy and when you buy it!

Yikes, kind of regret reading this, but it was like a train wreck, couldn’t stop once I started watching. Also realized I will definitely not be doing any math, cause there is no way the answer is good. But its like I say to my wife and my wife’s friends - I could spend money on a lot worse habits, spend a lot more of it, and be a lot worse off for it.

Not mine. This will be my first year saddle hunting. I’ve bought a jx3 and helium full length sticks to start with. Then I decided before climbing with them I needed daisy chains. No need to pay someone to make them so I ordered enough 1/8” amsteel to supply half the people herewith daisy chains. That’s a slight exaggeration but needless to say I got plenty. Then I think one stick and rappelling sounds good so off to DanO I go. Get myself some htp a safeguard and autoblock. Also get oplux tether and lineman’s. At this point I realize I only need a hand ascender for SRT so off to amazon I go. Somewhere through this whole process I buy 5 sewing machines of which one is industrial so I can make my own saddle/saddles. Now I purchase webbing, mesh, buckles and g-hooks. I make several saddles that I’m happy with. Now someone mentions the 20” heliums for sale on Camofire so I can’t pass up a good deal. Somewhere along the line someone mentions wespur has a sale so I thought DRT looked interesting so 75’ of predator is shipped to my house. Since I own land and I’ve read great things about using bolts off to eBay I go and buy bolts. Then to amazon for heat shrink for the bolts. To the hardware store for a drill bit and a stop for it. Then tonight I need more webbing so off to DanO again. Since I’m ordering from there I decided I might as well get the canyon-iv rope I’ve been eying since he got it. I’m afraid to even try to total all of this up. Numbers might be scary but I’ve had a hell of a good time. Probably not done spending either. Surprised my wife hasn’t killed me yet. Lol. I did sell one sewing machine for $30 though.

Hey now, don't put me on the tier with those guys, hell they probably have more than 4 saddles each currently....technically down to 2!!!!
Only if you count the jx3. And we’re talking about current market commercially available correct? I still don’t have any more invested in saddles than @Vtbow has in 1980’s camo.

Ive used a trophyline saddle since between 2007- 2008 and have concentrated a ton on archery gear testing , archery shooting experiments , building arrows , turkey calls/ decoys , building better arrows , new elite bow & accessories, single bevel testing , 200+grain broadhead testing ,different camo experiments/ purchases, camo making , now heavy arrow builds ( over 700 grains) , & i experiment with arrows every spring.
I am just now ( well last year actually) finally able to get back to changing up my saddle setup and trying different stuff to make it alittle more efficient & adding on to previous saddle setup .. I am already pleased with every little change i do sooo i am still experimenting ..
To sum up - theres really no way to accurately add up everything but I am glad i got most of it when i was single lol...
My girl and my kids love wild game that i cook soooo i dont get to much flack for adding to my gear as long as the freezer gets fed.
I also used to buy ice fishing gear every year but pretty much am set with what i need for now..
I blacksmith so all that smithy stuff is another story .. All in all i have what i need & i experiment & do my research to make my setup better.. Theres alot more Saddle hunting techniques then i ever knew of all theese years of hanging in trees soo now yes alot more experimenting lol
