You guys are killing my back reading about 20+ lb setups, so I had to do some scale time today! Mine are anywhere from 8 lbs to 12 lbs, depending on where I am going and prefer at that moment, so these are my combos to choose from. I usually take the Squirrel Steps, but can leave them off to shave weight on further hunts - the following weights include them, back band, knee pads, and other items. I am not including water or snacks because I do not carry them on most hunts now and I do not hunt all day. I have modded my Hawk Heliums down to 15" and use 7/64" amsteel daisy chains (I can get to 20+ ft with them using knaider/swaider), removed the leg buckles on the Flex and replaced with G hooks and cut off extra webbing lengths for my tastes, and removed the factory clips on the AH back band for lighter clips. My gold standard on weight is my X-stand climber that weighs 12 lbs. If I can't beat it with a saddle solution, then I am wasting my time as it has served me well over the years.
