Hungry fat kid problems

I got this idea from Gene Wensel years ago and its totally carnivore/keto..... Get a nice thermos that you know keeps things warm and boil up some hotdogs in little chunks and pour that in your thermos. Get the high fat hotdogs and when you're done eating the hotdogs drink the water "brine" salt and fat and liquid all in one. It warms you up and you're not eating fast burning carbs. It may sound disgusting but when you're hunting and its cold, it works and you'll love it.

I like that, but I’m going to use kosher dogs. I am not a fan of lips or hooves.

Definitely be an upgrade to my thermos of chicken broth.

Oh, drink hotdog water. I've now heard it all.
Look guys, these diets may help you drop some weight, I'm sure they work for some people and that's great.
The most in-shape people I know, runners, athletes, etc. dont do any of this. They exercise. Then you can eat a burger, pizza, beer whatever, so long as you do so in moderation. I do know some vegans who are great athletes, too, but somehow I doubt such advice would be helpful here.
My advice, run twice or three times per week. Lift two evenings. Eat what you want but be reasonable.

Personally, I find that when I'm hungry, I'm just generally sharper. Better mental acuity, feel lighter, no tiredness.
When I eat to satiation, I feel tired, sluggish, heavy, unmotivated.

That's fine if you are 20 something. Try that when you are 60 something.
Eating to satiation with carbs makes you tired and sluggish. Eating protein and fat to satiation does not. If you've never tried something, I am sure you know all about it. I doubt you tried it because most Americans are scared to do so. Triathletes that have switched to keto have been winning since fat provides longer lasting energy than sugar, important in the extra long races.

I used to believe as you did and not very long ago either but until I changed what I ate, meaning- Anti sugar and carbs. I used to work out, work hard (I still do wood because I burn it to heat my home which is just over 3,000sf) and I help others who also burn wood. I also help my brother in law on his farm doing haying all summer etc. So I think I get my exercise especially in the spring and this time of year. I'm also a trapper and if you have ever beaver trapped, you know that it is very labor intensive. If you are on a Carnivore or Keto type diet, high fats and proteins are what your body needs because you are no longer burning short lived sugar and carbs which turn to sugar. You're burning fat. I have never felt better and I have lost over 25 lbs since August.

I know many triathletes and distance athletes, and haven't heard a primarily meat/fat to satiation diet espoused, it's more often associated with drop weight quick type scenarios (I'm sure you can find a link, no worries). I don't think anyone would argue with cutting carbs and a diet higher in protein, is a good general rule, it's just that long term, adhering to a strict diet doesn't work for most. Cake is good, burgers are good, so is beer.

Getting fit through exercise and eating a well balanced, reasonable meal is often more sustainable. Being a little hungry, that's ok too.

Man, that's awesome and glad it's working out for you. I hope you are able to avoid carbs and keep feeling great for as long as you wish to do so.

Me, I eat some carbs, and I've never had 25 pounds I needed to lose because I run and lift and eat well. There's some pasta in there, beer, pizza when I want it. Just not every day.

How about we worry about hunting and not eating. I never bring food with me when hunting. I'm supposed to be hunting not eating. If you get hungry when you sit then eat more before you go and suck it up out in the woods. Water however is a must have to keep dehydration at bay and keep those dry throat coughs from ruining your hunt.

Sorry for this can of worms I opened. I was really just asking about what ya'll eat when you get hungry on an all day sit. Instead I feel like I googled "I have a headache" and it came back "you have cancer". Honestly I am not going to change my whole lifestyle for the hours every year I spend in the stand. I like food and I like eating. I went out this morning and caught some speckled trout. So tonight for dinner I made a mango, strawberry, avocado, a little lime juice (salsa), and some rice. That is a great healthy meal. Definitely not keto. Like most simple questions asked on line this went way off the rails. I am not having a buffett in the stand, sometimes you get a little hungry around noon when you have been in the stand since 0430-0500 and you aren't planning on coming down until 2000.

Don’t be sorry. We had some back and forth, we learned a few things. No one got butt-hurt. It’s all good.

I can’t wait to try the cut up hot dog sliced in the thermos during all day rut sits.

No apologies necessary, you asked a very valid question and you received very valid answers. I hope something we offered up helps you when you get hungry. I typically only carry food with me during the rut or gun season when I'm sitting all day long and I start to get cold and hungry. I would hate to leave a hot stand because I didn't prepare a little bit. But the thermos of hotdogs, albeit weird sounding, works and its really a whole bunch of stuff you need in one place without noisy wrappers etc. You get done, screw on the lid and stuff it back in your pack. Wieners for Whitetails!!!!

Dude I wont like, I'm the same way, I take MRE mains and sometimes the whole dang MRE..... and yes, I'll even use the heater, especially when it's cold...... I'm the skinniest dam fat kid you'll ever meet!

Ugh. I hate MREs. Well, except for Country Captain Chicken, and if you can trade the cheese dip for peanut butter then the wheat snack bread is pretty good (though I did crack open a packet one time and it was all moldy...I digress). But I like to be able to poop.

Learned the hard way about MREs. Went on a multi day backpacking adventure in college with MREs as my food source. Didn’t make it multiple days due to stomach pains from constipation.

Told my dad about it since he gave them to me. He explained the strategic value of low fecal output in a combat situation.
