What weight hunting arrows do you guys prefer? I like mine heavy. I'm about to build some out of the pile of arrows i have that have had the vanes come off. My current set are 530gr. but I've been playing around and my bow seems to like 630-650.

I prefer a heavy-ish arrow (about 500ish grains), nothing in the Ashby street legal range but definitely heavier than the average build.

I’m about 420, I’ve got a shorter draw length and I’m trying to use heavier arrows to add weight. I’m using the carbon express piledrivers, maybe y’all could say what arrows you use as well

I had used a 420 grain arrow for whitetails. This year I'm switching to a heavier arrow... It should be around 510 grains with a 150 grain head. Going to try it this year on whitetails with intentions of trying it on elk next year.

I am using FMJs and 125gr Magnus black Hornets with 50gr inserts which puts me at 530 gr total arrow weight. It's amazing how much quieter my bow is and how much better it feels to shoot.

I’m running about 425 gr with narrow shaft TecHunter Pro arrows (Victory). This is with 100 gr NAP Blood Runner blades.

Gold tip XT 75 - 95 they weigh 392 grains at 28 inches . Carbon Express Maxima Hunters 402 grains at 28 inches. Both arrows are 8.9 grains per inch. I shoot 55 pounds and the stiffer shafts fly great for me.

I called Grizzly Stix today and their arrow is a tapered end..one great aspect about this arrow can be cut off at either end which gives you the ability to establish a stiffer or more flexible shaft. Gizzlys can also add additional front end weight improving penetration and pass threws. It was a very interesting conversation...my example was I could shoot their 320 shaft and increase the weight to 450 then you still have to add your broadhead weight...so a 450 shaft and 125gr broadhead 575...Grizzlys product specialist indicated the tapered design increases the cast and energy loss. They suggest to buy a two arrow test pack and ordering them in two different weights...this is certainly a shaft I like to test

Currently shooting Easton FMJ with 50 grains of brass, and 100 grain broadhead for a total of 507 grains. Might try the Easton Axis with everything else the same. Should put me around 470 grains.

Axis and 100gr slick tricks come in at 405 grains they shoot real well and tune easily , I've been shooting the same combination for 9 or 10 years or longer than that if you include beeman mfx which were identical to the axis arrows
