HuntStand vx OnX

I switched from OnX to Huntstand this year. OnX has a simple user interface but the imagery for my area is crap. It's old and lower quality versus Huntstand, Basemap, and Huntwise. I'm still learning the ins and outs of Huntstand but the interface isn't nearly as clean and user-friendly as OnX.

I just started using Huntstand, so can't speak for others but I like the offline maps as well as the desktop version, where I can upload a kml or upload trail cam photos and link them to a specific cam/location. Have been using the free version just to get a feel of the product and really like it, the imagery is decent, and I'm able to select a wide range of basemaps to include USGS 1:24k. I can upload a kml of a WMA boundary to a hunt area, which saves me time and reduces any mistakes if I were to trace the boundary. I imagine the paid version would already have the property info displayed as a base., but having the option to ingest your own data is always good. I have yet to experiment with uploading a kml of point or line features.

I've only used OnX - it's great for understanding huntable land and boundaries. It also has some hidden features/layers such as showing where acorn producing oaks are located. Haven't tried Huntstand but heard good things.

I’ve used huntstand, BaseMap, onX and spartan forge and spartan forge is by far my favorite. I won’t make some cheesy post that sounds like a sales pitch but I encourage all fellow hunters to look into spartan forge. Awesome technology

I had the free Huntstand for a few years and it wasn’t bad for my needs. I decided to upgrade this year and went with the OnX Premium. I live in PA and I just don’t love it. Maybe it’s just me because I was familiar with Huntstand. So I went ahead and purchased Huntstand Pro. I purchased both through Guidefitter so I got a nice discount to try both and compare

Team,

I've been using HuntStand for a few years now, but at times it's a little clunky, esp. when I don't have good cell service.

Anyone have experience with both apps that can share insight on OnX and it's performance with no signal.

Which do you prefer? Why?
I’m HuntStand guy myself. Used OnX for a couple years decided to try HuntStand and it just stuck. I like all the features and the layout.

Anyone ever see a Column table or spreadsheet comparison between them all?

I was trying both out about 4 years ago and my phone did an update. Lost all my hunt stand pins and didn't loose any of OnX. So that made my decision. But I have noticed that the hunt stand is using updated maps and OnX is a few years behind. MEH... LOL.

Few other posts on the topic:
I like ONXs interface but I don’t use it because I can’t trust it. Time and again it’s burned me on property info and no, it’s not the counties fault because HuntStand was accurate. I’ve reached out to ONX on several occasions and gave them data points and they said they’d correct their info and haven’t. YMMV where you live but for me it’s a no
