It do say that. Up in N Alabama there doesn’t seem to be as many of the live oaks but the few areas where I know there are some are near lots of water oaks. I had the understanding that they were red oaks just like the water oaks so I never really fooled with them. The big thing is whether deer are feeding on them and prefer them. I’ll have to check a few and see if they’re getting some action. The deer have a lot to eat so they don’t typically fool with the water oaks from what I’ve seen. But that might make the live oaks great feed trees.
