Increasing efficiency for 1 stick climbing

I love it...JX3..very very comfortable.....I used a crossbow to take a doe...I used JX3 like a benchrest...very stable....and not limiting at all...

I do how ever still use one of my 30' ropes with my Gri-Gri for my climb and daisy chain it when at height after switching over to my tether. When its time to come down I just switch back over and take my stick off and rappel down. I've been thinking about this as well. I've used SRT a few times, but a tree with several branches can be tough to get the throw-ball past the lower branches and over the branch you want (especially during early season). However, I believe repelling down would be a lot less stressful than searching for the aider loop in the dark. Add extreme cold weather gear, and it gets even trickier.

Carrying multiple sticks is just asking for noise. I am going to try this with a full size Helium - then I’ll cut one down if it works. Plus, putting up the sticks is one thing, but they can be awfully cold on bare hands after a long sit in single digit weather. Wearing gloves would help, but you lose so much dexterity. Thanks for posting the vid.
 
Tried one sticking in the yard today. Way easier than one might think.

I don’t have a cam cleat but I found the cam strap quite nice. I left it a little loose like @Bwhana says, and it moves easily enough.

I compared it to a daisy chain strap and buckless. Daisy chain was kind of annoying if adjustment was needed. The buckless was too sketchy if you did a quick tie and too fiddly if you did a proper tie.

I also compared it to my LWHC and I have to say I am liking 1stick better.

I can see a two step fixed aider being nice. My CAYG aider worked well but less fiddle would have been nice in this case. My knaider also worked nicely!

Rappelling at the end is the best!

I use the muddy pro to one stick with a 3 step aider that works perfectly. And I rappel down too. I think this is the best system. This next off season I'll get the ultra light standoffs and double steps and make my one stick even lighter.

I use a JC knaider as part of one stick climbing method. I like it as it’s one less thing hanging from the tree as I climb.
 
A paracord pull on the back of a daisy chain makes it a viable option for one sticking. On most trees it only takes a couple of hooks to make it up the tree. I prefer it overlook cam cleats or traditional buckle straps. You can’t beat 7/64 for low bulk.

So an amsteel daisy chain? I can see that working better than a webbing one.

I'm having trouble figuring out what you mean by paracord pull on the back. Would you mind elaborating or happen to have any pics?
