Just saw Aerial Assault's video on it while I was searching about Broadside Camo ironically. Have we finally got the ultimate product for the camo believer?

Not knocking the product, my initial thought was that its pretty cool and it made sense. But I think its going to fail because they do not know what demographic they are trying to sell to. Most hunters who believe in camo are pack rats, who likes having a lot of different set of things, sometime the SAME thing. They don't want something that can change camo patterns, they want multiple sets of camo patterns!

Same principle apply to most AR-15 owners I think. I bet the guy who came up with the concept of VersaSkins has a single lower, but 4-5 different uppers with different calibers for the right situations that he interchange in and out. Which is a perfectly valid thought process, but not the most popular. Most AR-15 owners have dozens, sometimes the exact same just different colors simply because that is what they like.

Anyway, just wondering, if it was comfortable to wear and temperature appropriate, who here would consider trashing all their hunting clothes and just using the VersaSkins system?

A different spin on camo to drain money from the wallets of hunters imo. Look how many guys got it done wearing their timberpimp camo...

1. Those are poor camo patterns they've selected
2. Camo connoisseurs seem to gravitate to a single favorite pattern or a couple
3. One of the major factors driving camo diversity is seasonal changes, which goes hand and hand with needing various clothing weights not a single jacket and pant.
4. Those are poor camo patterns they've selected

6. Layering can be utilized to accomplish transitional camouflage that makes sense for seasonal weather conditions.

Yet, I have thought of covering my broadside saddle with a cloth camo "skin" attached to the MOLLE until the canopy thins. So, I don't entirely hate the idea. But...

And that's a bad start when camo is your sales pitch.

I mean its a new idea I'll give them that. However, I've already bought all my different camo patterns which I am not going to get rid of to go out and buy that.

Right, and I don't see folks consigning their smartly designed Sitka gear for Versaskin quality outerwear.

The company that would have had the best chance of a positive reaction to this idea is probably Predator Camo. Even then, the reality is that in most cases, temperature shifts invalidate the premise.

Personally, I even find the two bolt crossbow a more attractive concept.

i like the idea to some extent, but agree w ith @Plebe, what about temperature changes? i feel like most people have lots of camo gear because of varying temps/ needing to layer. it would be cool if they had fleece/windstopper/etc liners that could be sewn in and out with the skins, but as-is, not a product i'm interested in.

I buy my hunting clothes based primarily on the weather conditions I'll be hunting in followed by how it fits and relative quietness. If it's camo colored after that, then great.

I agree that adding internal components to a shell makes more sense. But then, fit becomes an issue, especially for coats, as layers add up. You either start off too big or end up too small. And then, doing camo skins on top of the shell. Sounds like having multiple different garments is just simpler.

Again, with many hunters happy to run a specific camo all year, camo that specifically isn't an option from Versaskins, I'm not seeing a big market demand for this.

...most? i need to hang out with your friends lol. i feel like most ar-15 owners dont own dozens of them. i dont have a single friend who owns more than 12. a lot of us have around that many guns but not dozens of the same gun in different colors.

Camo doesnt really matter that much to me for deer hunting. For example, that snow pattern...unless your sitting in the wide open or stalking in the snow, that white isnt going to help all that much when your sitting in the saddle/stand. IMO you can cross off the need for snow camo for 99.9% of hunts. i quit caring about matching camo about 4 years ago. body movement and wind direction is 99% of whitetail hunting from a treestand. Turkey is another conversation but deer cant see for ****.
