It's just...a little crush... - Review of the JX3 Hybrid Saddle

any idea how it would work if you put a cap on the tree fork so It wouldn't cut into the tree? Thinking for the trees that get sap on everything when you cut into them.

Maybe some plastidip

I guess I was kinda wondering how much having a sharp tip helped move around the tree. All good ideas.

John has a new fork he’s working on & I hope to demo it @ the Maryland saddle shootout live..... there are a couple new mods that we’re gonna test. I’ll get w/ @Adrena123 maybe get some video. Definitely pics! As far fork mods go it wouldn’t have to be sharp if you wanted to have a smoother one for conifers........ the tips help but I could make a case for not getting covered in certain scenarios

has anyone heard how things are going production wise? I've been on the list and just curious how John is coming along with his product.

I talked to John yesterday. He is starting to produce again.

I would stay away from this thread turning into an update on production or status. It will just result in a locked thread. Forget lead times here, it worth the wait, you get it when you get it.....

Thanks - mods please keep that nonsense out of here. More good content to come, focused on the task at hand!

Spoke with john yesterday for a while. Man makes me wanna go turkey hunting!

I spoke with John yesterday as well. Talking about filming turkeys last weekend he had me hearing gobbles in his sleep. In other news my hybrid will be here next week so I will give a review when I get it.

I tried the Hybrid with the Lone Wolf hand climber last night and it works but on the first try it was tough. I will keep trying but I think the one stick method is going to be your best bet. I will however verify that this thing is extremely comfortable.

I tried the JX 3 with the LW Hand climber down at Saddlepalooza. It was a slow go both up and down the tree. My plan is to wear my RC harness for climbing and descending. Basically just wear it under the JX 3. I have been doing it for years with my Summit Viper, and It weighs almost nothing so no big deal.

Did anyone try the one stick method with the JX3 hybrid? That is going to be my next test

I’ve tried it twice & am not sold on the idea. You have to rotate 90 degrees right or left every time you position the stick. The fork gets in the way , even if fully inserted. One sticking is way easier in my kite. Try both & post your opinions. I’d like to get together w/ @Adrena123 & make a video highlighting the difference in one sticking. There are places the JX3 really shines, just not here...
