Man i should have titled this post “ecological impact of pit vipers, coyotes, and wild hogs... saving baby raccoons, shooting baby deer and drinking its mom’s titty milk”

Never would have guessed we would end up here lol

Can you tell we're all bored out of our skulls waiting for opener?

Oh I can tell... When I stop tip toeing around and decide on a pack to buy I’ll be ready to go.

When I do I’m sure time slow down even more

I thought it a good thread so far....I like to hear other thoughts on things....

People up north may not realize the impact invasives have if they never researched... I seen 3 nutria this morning at a pond in town....open season on them but u only ever find them in town where u cant shoot at them...I never seen 1 out on public land

Never seen a nutria, but I'd love to show up at a check station with one!

How many you want, we got plenty.

I wish I could find find a piece of public land around here with them on it... I have heard they are delicious. There's a colony of them in one of the bigger parks in Houston but they frown on hunting out there.

Would a rattler like that bite through a typical rubber boot?

They can but usually glance off or kinda short strike as warning without wasting a lot of their valuable venom and risk breaking a fang

Coyotes are really amazing animals, yeah they can cause problems but they really don't get the respect they deserve.

They have laughed at everything we've been throwing at them for over a hundred years and asked for more!

They don’t laugh at what I throw. I guess none of you have ever been packed up on. The ones I’ve encountered don’t have any fear. I’ve had them follow me back to the truck in the dark. Also had a pair stalk up on me from downwind one day while I was sitting on the ground. When the male saw me, he wasn’t scared at all, he looked at me like I might have been dinner so I had to remind him of the order of the food chain...then I heard the female a couple yards away on my side. It reminded me of that scene from Jurassic Park with the raptors. Also have them on camera chasing does with fawns. I love dogs (which mine have killed more snakes than I could even think about) I don’t mind shooting coyotes.

When I was learning to climb last summer, with a full dress rehearsal, including pack and crossbow, I said I was going coyote hunting since there is no closed season in PA.

Huntin' buddy has a unique outlook on snake species in Tennessee----- Cobras and rattlers.....If it aint rattling,,it's a cobra far as he's concerned.

When I was out scouting this spring this guy was enjoying the sun. Me too, so I left him alone.
