Kifaru Duplex Lite vs Duplex Tactical?

I have a frame coming, duplex lite, so now I just need a bag and my research has started, if anybody has Kifaru buyers remorse and has a bag send me a PM, question, is the Stryker xl the only one with the beefier load shelf, I have watched countless youtube videos and scoured threads, from what I gather it looks like this is the case as it was designed for bulkier stuff, stands etc., I’m trying to weigh getting a bigger bag or Stryker xl with a camp bag and using the shelf more, or 2 bags possibly, the options are endless obviously, so my main question is the Stryker xl the only bag with the more rugged looking load shelf, and it also looks like less fiddle factor to use said load shelf, or am I missing something, I’m sure all of the load shelf bags are simple to deploy it just looks like the Stryker mite be a bit easier.

that’s the draw of the Stryker XL. The load shelf is so easy to access and the bag is not overly big for when you want to drop camp and stalk.

You don't need the load shelf. I've carried a 150# big ass ladder stand (not far) using compression straps.

My personal opinion is get a bag, and lash sticks, platforms, stands, whatever to the outside of the pack using the straps. I've done it that way with almost every flavor of hang on or climbing stand, platforms, different sticks, etc.

When I've hauled meat, it goes in the pack in a contractor bag.

The straightjacket is another option with the large shelf though.

Strykers are the only ones with a load shelf that is easily accessible for hauling big bulky items. All the other bags have load shelves but they are between the bag and frame and designed to carry meat more than anything else. I agree that you should buy the bag that you like best and just strap everything to the frame using compression straps. But if you must have a load shelf for hauling a stand or something bulky the Stryker is what you’re looking for. Also, I never use the load shelf, just debone meat in the field and it goes into game bags, then a contractor bag, and into the pack. If you had to carry everything in one trip for miles the load shelf for meat would work well though.

Well my duplex lite frame is here, apparently the hype is real because this thing is crazy nice, coming from frame packs that were made in the late 90’s I think I waited too long… it’s time to put a load on it and run it, I’m pretty sure I’m going with a monster size bag first, it helps a couple are on sale right now and to be honest this pack is not for whitetail day hunts, I have packs for that, if I fall in love with the frame and that could happen, I will sell my pop up 28 and buy a Stryker xl, but for the time being I’m going to start with something like the Ma Deuce, my main day pack, the Muley, has molle clips or whatever on it to attach it on a larger pack, I get to base camp, drop my main pack, grab my Muley pack and go hunt, I’m pretty stoked!

Aron Snyder from Kifaru always packs his game in the bag, not on a shelf, and he can chose any pack setup he wants. For what that's worth.

If you haven’t already check out that youtube video of Frank in Alaska hunting caribou, it’s on Kifarus youtube channel

How did you get it that fast? Did you buy the one in the classifieds?

Anyone have any input on whether or not a 22 inch frame would be too small for someone that is 5,8?
I noticed some 6ft+ guys mentioned going to the 24 from 26 inch was fine and helped when ducking under brush

I would think it would be fine, I’m 6’1” and have the 24” frame and absolutely love it for the short time I have had it, my understanding is the extra length on the frame is geared towards heavier loads and better use of the load lifters, so maybe take that into consideration, how much heavy hauling you expect to do.

It'll be fine. I'm 5'11" and have a 22" and a 24", and don't notice the extra lift of the 24" unless I'm hauling heavy loads...

Is it a contradiction to strap any Kifaru product to a molle ii frame

My experiment of the evening. I like it!

I seriously think the only reason to get a 26 inch frame is if you’re freakishly tall or your using it exclusively out west. I’m just a hair under 6’2 and my 26 is a little long for whitetail hunting. The 24 would be perfect for me. I would think the 22 would fit you like the 24 fits me

I’m about to order one of the new Rogan Fanny packs to wear around every day. I’ve reached an age I don’t care if I look dumb lol. Probably going to put my pistol in it and do away with my edc holster
