MTS's solution is awesome. You don't need a spreader, just tie the other leg to a tree to hold it apart. You can also a ropeman to hoist it up, you just don't get the 4to1 advantage.

I never thought i needed one till today. Hunting a draw hunt on an old army base that they still sorta control. We have to be out the gate no later than 7p. It doesnt get dark until after 6. Big place and takes a while to get to gate.

Long story long, i had to leave her but had to get my old junker setup from van. I need a really lightweight one now that stays in my pack! Would have saved a long walk had i had one already. I will have one this week
