Nice little 8 pt right out of range :/ grunted and he turned around, snort wheeze thing and he turned around again. Couldn’t get him closer.

Fine. This is hunting for me. You went to a spot to have an encounter with your prey. Nothing more is necessary. Shooting or not is another question. It is not necessary to have hunted. Thanks for sharing.

Seeing that buck made it worth it.killing is a big deal for me and it ain’t nothing. I suck at it and need all the deer shooting apportinities I can get. I got busted down wind of this creek a couple years ago so I made sure to set up on this side this time. Wouldn’t you know the buck was walking on the other side. The way it goes I’m afraid. It’s only a matter of time before give me an opportunity.
 
just got back in town and was welcomed with snow, going out for another short sit and I’m going to kill this buck with 1.5 hour left of daylight, in the snow, in Alabama. The odds are in my favor right? LETSGO

Best odds I have ever heard of. Bet the house and make it happen!!!!
 
THAT WAS WILD. These bucks were running this doe all over the place for the last 20 minutes of shooting light. They ran right by the tree I was set up on Friday. They went across the creek and ran by me at 10 yards but too fast for a shot and nothing was stopping them. Not long behind them came a NICE buck but he went wide of me. That was some of the best action I’ve have seen!! I didn’t get it done but I would have never experienced that from the house that’s for sure!

And that is why I hate archery season, lol. I like killing deer. That is awesome action. I will be out there for the next 2 days with the slug gun. Probably just on doe patrol, no bucks will die I less they go on the wall (owner's rules, not mine).
 
Not in the saddle this morning, but had 4 short nose does just after first light at 50 yards. With 5 deer already in the freezer, I told myself big does and wall hangers the next two days, so they got a pass.

What's a short nose vs long nose doe? I get it that its another way of saying young vs mature doe, but wondering if it has any more specificity or is interchangable with yearling/doe fawn. Like is it a spike or button buck equivalent or either/who cares stop overthinking
