LIVE from the saddle 2023

Thanks man, to be perfectly honest I’m stressing it so hard I feel sick
It happens to us all as you well know!!! Keep the faith brother! BTW, what Model Hoyt are you shooting? That riser looks like the camo on a 1999 Hoyt Viper Redline HO I used to own. Great bow. Wish I had kept it!

its a 97 Hoyt tenacity. Was my wife’s granddads bow, it was given to me as I’m the only one of the “grandkids” that hunts. Makes it hard to wanna use any other bow, the draw cycle is butter and I’m usually lights out with it to 40…..on targets…..obviously this time I was not.

Thanks guys. Im happy it’s over. I feel bad I gut shot him but I feel good on getting him. First bow buck and first saddle buck
Glad you found him! I gutshot my buck this season, so I know what you were feeling. I ended up bumping him once about 3 hours after the shot and caught up to him about 5 hours after the shot to get a second arrow in him as he was unable to get up from his bed.

I wish I had a little bit of doubt as to why mine was a gut shot. I rushed a shot because he didn't stop when I bleated and I was running out of shooting lane. 20 yards dead broadside, and I saw it punch through to the fletching mid body height 2/3 back, but he was pouring blood out. I took up the trail because there was so much blood I thought I may have hit an artery, but after I jumped him it was pretty clear it was a routine gut punch.

Glad you found him, and glad you got to recover some of the meat!

Rough start to a great morning, battery was dead, then had to run and get a new one. Took my time and got in the woods when I could. Had 3 small bucks chasing and grunting a doe straight by me. Grabbing my bow and stopping the first buck I dropped my arrow when I hit the split tree next to me lol. The spike came back around but not shot. They’re chasing good, hoping I get a chance at a nice one. 4B52355A-6337-49AE-9E3E-0A51B1CC447D.jpegBD6818D3-B2FC-447D-A8BA-43B0DCC869A5.jpeg2DC24E4F-B343-410B-A73D-5BDA2F53ECA9.jpeg294C1632-7B40-4D00-B656-88FE919A9F82.jpeg4D930687-4E32-427D-9EA2-372F7D826072.jpeg

You are the absolute huntin’est homie I know of. Good luck on another one!

I'm out as well but not having as much luck getting on deer yet, finding plenty of sign/poop everywhere/trails but no deer. Stopping for early lunch, going to hike back to the truck and drive to a different spot for PM where I've shot deer before/saw deer late season last year. One stick makes a nice lunch seat.
