Well I'm in the truck at the second location. I did see one deer on the walk out, but unfortunately not one that I want to shoot. Looks like someone shot a small buck recently and couldn't find it, hard to get a good pic but it's at least a 4 pt and there's a rib sticking out the side which I assume was from an arrow hole. Sucks, but sucks even more because it's in the water about 75 yards from parking.

You trad bow fishing over there?

I decided I didn't need the fanatic bibs for the evening since it's currently in 40s and I wanted a lighter pack. Now that I'm in the tree I realize I left my gloves, extra hot hands, and hat in the bib pockets. Whoops. I'll manage but that was dumb.

Hoping the deer don't want to get their feet wet and walk right through here to bedding this evening.

Well, I took two shots in the last 15 min.

But going home empty. Clean miss on a coyote at about 40 yards right under it, and then deflected off a branch to miss the doe fawn that stayed at 75 yards for a hour and then ran under me at 5:25, only for me to mess up a 5 yard chip shot opportunity, get a second chance at 35 and clip a branch. All good she was small but still, was made of meat lol. Next time.

Glad you enjoyed your town time out! Good luck on your next excursion! And uh also.... hope this is OK... we could use 2 more points on an upgrade ;)
Not a whole lot would make me happier than to upgrade my spike some time before the end of the month, so I plan to spend as much time in the woods as I can, but have not seen much daytime deer the last few times out. Going to just keep trying though, I proved to myself I can get to the woods with enough light to make it worthwhile after work today if I start/leave early

Really enjoy the time you get! Unwind, de-stress. Best of luck!

I hunted again today. I didn't see any deer but heard two does (assuming) blowing three hundred yards away right at closing time. They could not have smelled me since there was a strong wind blowing from them to me. It sounded like one of them might be running toward me. I'm not sure what that was about.

I had hopes for the evening. This was a spot that I scouted a couple of years back and meant to hunt last season. I just didn't get around to it last year. I got in there and found good sign. There were quite a few fresh rubs off in there and deer poop galore. Pictured below is the biggest I found. The shavings looked fresh.

There is a scrape lane about 150 farther in but I did not push that far back. That may be the next outing.

I 2TC'd a pine this evening. I shucked the bark off it good. There was a pretty good pile on the ground. Luckily, I had some wind to cover the noise.

Live from the, it’s too dang windy to be in a tree so I’m glad I’m in a biggun. Came out after the tornadoes went through. Got super up to the high 60s and now it’s plummeting fast. 29 tonight I’ll be packing my layers again. Got my dad out here with me in a climber lol. So much junk I’m glad my system is so streamlined now. I wish I had a more mobile system for him to use but the climber is really the best bet for him since he doesn’t ever hunt. We’re gonna hunt Friday and Saturday, I’m hoping no one steals my cats I just had replaced and I’m hoping he sees some deer. Good luck! This is tree surfing weather! Hope nobody steals your cats (or dogs for that matter), lol.
