I did get on the book of feces. Apparently the dude talked with Andrae and hashed it out. He (the breaker) feels like it was a one-off manufacturing defect. If the body cou t rises like it did with the other platform, I guess I'll accept that my foray into platforms is really snakebit, and that a camming platform is just an accident waiting to happen.
Maybe LWCG will quietly roll out a gen 2 and offer to replace the gen 1’s only after they break?
Maybe. I was pretty impressed with how they handled earlier issues with the crooked buttons. Hope i don't have to take back the nice things I said

They have some good will to burn with me after Andrae called me twice to ask me what I wanted to do about the crooked button on my original batch ambush. First time I ignored the call because I didn't recognize the number and I hadn't reached out to them or requested contact. Next day he called again and I answered with my telemarketer voice before I realized who it was. He explained everything I already knew about the problems folks were having (no sugarcoating), and offered a full refund, a replacement post, or a new button. Told me to keep his personal number and if I had any problems with it (I decided to just get a new button and hunt on) let him know and he'd make it right.
I know folks have strong opinions about him, but he treated me like the pretty girl at the Nutria Rodeo.

Nah, I think he called a lot of folks, if not everybody in that original 300. I am curious to see if more platforms pop up broken. Might change my opinion of the situation.

I never received a call and was within the original batch of orders, but they have stood behind this, in my opinion. I was sent the replacement button along with all others, and I later requested the longer leveling bolt and they also sent that.
If they were only calling folks who they thought were... influencers (just puked in my mouth) that's lame. Hopefully not the case.
I'll definitely be watching for more broken platforms.
I had a very similar experience, but I think he had to call me 3 times before I answered.
Provided a full explanation and, most importantly, didn't seem to be in any hurry to get off the phone. Treated me like a valued customer.
I have since gone on to sell the Ambush due to noise issues.
It is, but...
I believe TMA testing is just a cycle of loads on a set platform or treestand. Camming saddle platforms seem to break as a result of stresses incurred during the cam-over. Treestands probably don't because they're generally beefier, they have cables to take some of the weight, and once they're set you're not standing on the edge of the thing the whole time.
Camming saddle platforms arguably see greater stress and have less material to support that stress. The assassins seem to have survived for decades of field time, but they're also substantially beefier. Folks didn't like the weight, but I wonder how this all looks 20 years from now.
Sold my Assassin and I'm kicking myself for it. The latest isn't always the greatest.
