LWCG Ghost harness

I'm out at $325. But the concept remains sound. The ring and a low tether with a big platform solves a lot of common problems:

  • No need for knee pads
  • No need for a back band
  • No hip pinch
  • No excess movement from swinging around
  • No tether interference when shooting.
Not for everybody, sure. But it seems weird that pairing a stand with a saddle has become mainstream and this gets poo-pooed.

I’m lost. To me it looks like they're pitching a different method(lower tether height) but attaching it to an uncomfortable saddle, combined with a closed strap based system that doesn’t do anything you couldn’t do with another saddle with adjustable bridge by dropping the tether to waist level and tightening it up. But it’s doing it with a cam strap(don’t like) a ring instead of a biner on the bridge(why?) biner around the tree which is generally a no-no. I personally prefer rope over webbing. It seems to limit how high I could put it for one sticking for example, and I imagine rappelling would be more difficult. Seems like it’s key is limiting what I can do. Help me understand what I’m missing?

Does it do anything I couldn't do with one of these and my current saddle?

Traditional saddle on a ring of steps or platform. How can this be even remotely comfortable to put your weight into?

I’ve transitioned to a very “standing” oriented posture like you described above. It has the positives you mentioned but you also end up just standing or leaning on the tree all day, meaning you’re putting all your weight on your feet all the time. I think a lot of guys have complaints about standing all day because of feet issues/pain in the feet, right? I’ll admit my feet get tired too this way but with a good pair of shoes/boots it takes a while to get there. If it wasn’t my feet it would be my back, knees, hips, etc. even sitting in a recliner too long you’ll get sore spots lol.

I’m still technically leaning and the saddle is distributed some of that force well. I don’t see this small strap doing that at all. It’s nice to sit sometimes too. I guess a hybrid stand hunter would have the seat to rest on.

$300 is absolutely outrageous for this. A $40 minimalist climbing harness would get you very close to this and you could DIY the rest. For the hybrid hunter maybe this is a good solution but my fear would still be arresting a fall and suspension trauma.

They think saddle hunting is stupid and so is anyone that doesnt do everything just like they think it should be done. That's what you are missing.
