LWCG stand setups

I can’t seem to find a perfect pack. I do miss my Wolf Pack.

Thinking of an idea rn from a member on here. Guide lid to hold big items with a belt pouch on the face of it. Or a marsupial gear small lumbar pad. Then the guide lid could compress my clothing to my .5 while either being able to hold extra clothing inside or rain gear. Rn this idea is exciting me. So we will see

Wolf pack or kifaru e&e if you want something a little more basic. E&e I made kydex hooks on shockcord to attach the bottom with loop at the top like the Wolfpack. The tx5 eop is pretty basic. But I wanted simpler connections to the stand.

Glad I added them, yes. Absolutely. Gives the platform a roomer feeling. Place to rest my feet, which shifts the pressure points when sitting for longer periods of time. Gives a much larger load shel when packing gear on top of the seat. Only drawbacks are more steps (sequencing of operations) needed to deploy and pack up the stand and the foot rests can occasionally get in the way when trying to strap the stand into the tree in the upright position (before cam locking it down, the steps hit the tree and you can’t get it as tight as you normally would). Added them to both the 0.5 and 0.75. A good addition.

What footrests did you. Add and how did you attach? What bolts did you use?

Novix. Bolted right on. No drilling required. Liked it so much I did it to both .5 and .75 stands. On one of them the bolts were already long enough. The other I used longer grade 8 bolts.

Cheap alternative to a larger size seat like the 1.0. This mod allows the foam padding edges to not sag thus getting the full benefit of a larger pad of your choice. Find the thickest kydex you can on Amazon and cut away the desire size of your pad. Then I finally zip tied it to the seat post. In this case was a cheap walmart padding.

What kydex thickness can you sit on without breaking? How do you cut it?

Mine was the .80 thickness. I see they now have thicker thickness in stock. I would go .90. To cut it I just use scissors. You could prbbaly use a razor blade.

I bought mine of archery talk but there’s a guy that sells em online for $45 with bolts.

Wrapped mine in hockey tape and grabbed grade 8 bolts from store. For $25 deals it’s a bargain for me. Sat in .25 for loooong days during rut and it wasn’t bad.

Seat size doesn’t bother me too much (and I’m a dad Bod) because I’ll just lean on tree once in awhile.

So does that kydex dig into the back of your legs at all? What’s the Best way to install it?
To install it. All I did was use 3 zip ties to hold the kydex in place of the seat post. Mark them and drill 2 holes for each zip ties and loop them on the frame post. Just make sure you don't go over the stock gear tabs/hooks on the seat post. For the foam I copied the 1.0 slots where the velcro goes to hold the foam in place. To cut the slot on the kydex for the velcro I used a heated a razor blade to cut the slots. For the foam pad I think I just used a knife to cut the slots and used the knife to mark where the foam pads sit. Reuse the old velcro straps

A few pictures of the footrests. Another thing that I like is they make it super easy to lash stuff onto the stand, especially if you are using the compact sticks - this setup is much easier to use than the tie down points on the platform. Put one end of the cam strap around the foot rest, cross it over your backpack, and put the other end of the cam strap loop onto the standoffs from the sticks. Super slick

And, for those that do not use (or prefer) the LWCG compact sticks, the footrests can also act as a stabilizing shelf for other brands of sticks. Shown in the picture below are 4 beast sticks. This setup works well, too, with the same concept and approach as depicted above. (With one exception: I added Paracord and carabiners to the platform to be able to use the cam straps as a means to attach the load/backpack. This works well, too.)

Made another mod yesterday removed a piece of the platform to get and integrated bow holder Perfect l!!!

This works also, and the hole diameter is the same as the ones around the outside perimeter of your .5 but you need a longer bolt since the platform is 5/8”.
This works better especially if you are running a hybrid setup.

Do you prefer this over the LWCG bow holder?
