Meth head squatter?

4 of the 9 of us are cops. So we’ll see. It was funny the first time. But now... somethings up.

I can fly down this weekend and help find him. I even have a tracking dog....but she never tracked a nutterbuster. Whatever he was up to, he got hot and stripped to the daisy dukes.

Sorry. Been slammed with work.

Our transit meth-head must have been just that. Or 5-0 ran him off. Either ways he’s either gone or learned where the cameras are. There’s 9 of us on this lease.... I’m still not so sure one of the “friends of a friend” that we (the folks I know there) don’t know us punking us. Hahaha

We went out. Walked a lot of trails coming and going from where he had been spotted. Nothing. We looked like An angry, well armed mob that day. Would have hated it for him had he popped up. Two of the cops with us were in too little sleep and too much coffee. I think they would have scared the be-Jesus outta him had we found him.

I'm an absentee land owner of some family property about 2 hours south of me. I've had numerous similar run ins with different neighbors on my property. I've been asked to leave, threatened with trespass charges, been accused of stealing firewood, etc. all while standing in the middle of my own land. No matter how much it burns me up I've always managed to laugh it off and make light of it with the neighbor who's trying to control my property. Realistically I have to try to be nice about it because ultimately I'm going to go home and these guys are going to be able to do what they want on my property. So far by being nice I've been able to keep the malicious mischief to a minimum.
Are the neighbors on YOUR property telling you that? or are they on their adjacent property and trying to look out for the unknown landowner (you)? this stuff drives me crazy but if they are just being protective of neighbors land its a good thing. If they are hunting and cutting down you trees...even just walking through...i would not be able to laugh it off. You're a better man than me. I'd have that property looking like vietnam with booby traps everywhere. i cant stand people trespassing, especially when they act like its THEIRS

These occurrences have all happened inside the boundries of my property.

One time I walked up on a guy cutting a downed tree out of the old, overgrown two track to the back of property. As I walked toward him he noticed me and stopped cutting but with the saw still running yelled at me I was tresspassing on private property. When I continued to walk toward he started toward at me kind of aggressively but suddenly stopped and took a more passive demeanor. Never having seen the guy before I decided to have some fun with him. I asked "Are you the owner?" to which he admitted he wasn't. I asked him "Do you know who the owner is?" He said no but his FIL lived on the adjacent property and was good friends with the owner. I asked him "Does the owner let you cut wood here?" Yeah, he said, as long a it's down. I said "Do you know the owners name?" to which he replied no, he's from downstate somewhere. I finally had enough and said "Well I know the owner and he's not from downstate, he's from northern Michigan and you're talking to him. As far as your FIL, I know who he is from the last time I took his treestands off the property and uncerimoniously dumped them in his driveway." (To be fair the FIL had asked for and gotten permission from me to maintain a hiking path back onto or property to exercise after he had a heart attack.) The guy with the saw got really sheepish then. We talked for a few more minutes and told him it was okay to remove the tree from the trail. I was going to have to do it anyway but under no circumstances did they have permission to cut ANYTHING else.

As I turned to continue to make my way around the property to look things over he said " That's a nice pistol you have there" Quite honestly I had completely forgot I was wearing my pistol open carry as I approached him. His sudden change of demeanor as I approached now made sense to me. I chuckled about it as I continued on ( I still smile thinking about it) but I still wonder what might have transpired if I hadn't been packing.

I will say, I haven't had any issue with that neighbor since.

Sometimes you got to go Jacob McCandles on folks

Like I said in my previous post, at the end of the day I'm going two+ hours north and may not be back for months. I can't afford to make enemies of these guys. They're still going to be there to have full run of the place. I'd likely treat the situations differently if I lived on the property or even could make it there more frequently.

Couldn’t agree more if I consistently piss off my neighbors (right or wrong) I know it’s sure not going to improve my hunting as I drive 2 1/2 hours away....

I have several spots like this where in early season scouting is sketchy. Tents everywhere, tent and tarp city. It’s disappointing because public ground here in Maine and for the season I’m hunting is so limited. I have one spot that is absolutely loaded with rubs, so I’m assuming the transient folks must leave by the rut or pre rut. Literally tents and sleeping bags and keyboard spray adjacent to heavy deer sign.

He doesn’t appear to be the type to practice scent control

He is a student of death kwon do and he took the death dump just off camera
