MR PopUp or Eberlestock MainFrame? Or budget option?

Here ya go Boys. I had a pop up 38 frame and a Pintler bag. It can not only BE done, but it looks stock to my eye.

also of note: I didn’t have to cut or break anything like the guy in that vid says. It was plug and play.

Well, I didn't shoot another deer this season so still haven't used those game bags. Tent should show up on Monday though, I guess I'll use that first. Still think these argali bags are great and if my initial playing with them empty lines up with how they work loaded, it's gonna be great. Of course because of my gear fanboi status I'm also eyeing the new exo k4 frames/packs, people reve about the k2 and k3 and after reading a bunch on rokslide, it seems like they really worked hard to dial the k4 in correctly. That's likely the only way I'd replace my popup 38 (famous last words lol)

Eying a PU 28. Anyone flown with one? Will it fit under a seat or is the frame too big? I’m sure it will fit fine overhead, right?

@Plebe @kyler1945, I think one of y’all replaced the stick belt with a different brand. I assume that means it’s removable? Could be packed away for the flight?

The belt is removable. It is a slide through/velcro attachment. I've tried the PU28 with both the Seek Outside belt and the Exo.

FYI, I have a NIB XL Pu28 in Subalpine I'm going to list. Christmas present that didn't get gifted, as my brother borrowed and has "kept" my Kuiu Pro, so just trying to recoup cost.

I’ve read about traveling with the PU on rockslide. Here is one such thread:

There was someone from HI that did a good review of the PU on that forum and I think talked about traveling with the pack. You can probably search a lot of info up over there from those who have done it or tried it. I haven’t.

I have used my 38 as a carry on (yes, no typo, 38 not 28). Followed the same basic procedure as the rokslide thread. I basically had it full to go through TSA, then when at my gate I collapsed the frame all the way and took a bunch of things out (pulled out a small drawstring bag packed full as my "personal item", wore my sweatshirt draped around my neck, and wore my boots/ strapped my shoes to the bag.) I didn't get asked to test it, but would have been able to jam it in the rectangle thing if need be. Once on the plane I quickly threw the sweatshirt and drawstring bag back inside and put it in the overhead, it was still smaller than everyone's rolling suitcase around me.
