The pop up 38 was a sweet little pack that I probably should have kept. The layout takes some getting use to but it does have nice features. I didn’t like how floppy the bag was. And if you have anything in the lid it makes getting into the bag a PITA, especially if your posts are up at all. I did get to try it out with a ton of weight but it didn’t seem to fit my hips well with even with about 20-30 lbs. For me, the Eber. M1 Frame fit like a glove. And I wanted so bad not to like that pack. I got it used and it’s beat up pretty bad lol. I’m going to be sure to to put some weight in my new Kuiu Pro pack when it comes in. If it doesn’t feel as nice as the m1 then I may have no choice but to stay with it. I really think packs are like saddles now wrt how they fit. You can buy one that is the right size, but if it doesn’t ride well, you’re gonna hate it packing a deer out. If you’re not planning on packing deer out, I see no reason to choose one pack over the other other than your own wants, likes and dislikes, on packing, pockets, and strap features. Every pack I have owned will carry my winter clothes and the few items I hunt with.
Some features I liked more than others but how they carry a deer is what I’ve been looking at the most. It’s been a minute I know you ended up getting a MR but was was the intent of your pack purchase? What did you want it for, and to do?
@HuumanCreed your original post said for hauling deer. If you haven’t put a bunch of weight (60 lbs at least) and walked a mile with your MR PU I would do that and decide if it’s the pack for hauling meat like you originally intended. I highly recommend packing out after a total of one times of doing it! Haha
