For you guys with the Tactikka, how would y’all rate the red LED on those for brightness....? Or do y’all just use the white light?

That is the original tactikka. Can still find them sometimes. I agree, grwat headlamp. Man your band muclst be stretched out good by now!I was wrong, I have an older Tikka with the red lense that flips up. Silly mistake! I've had other red lights that were not very bright. This one I can have on highest output and flip up the red lense. By far the best headlamp for red light I have used.

I have seen lots of guys discuss this, but the deer around me have reacted drastically any time I use white light. The best description of their reaction is “turn inside out” I also had a doe absolutely freak out with my handheld green light last year, though it is a very intense light.
My goal with the red is to not wash out my eyesight as badly, and because I have never had a bad deer reaction from red light alone. Both white and green effect my vision for several minutes after use.
A red only light with a nice bright beam for walking in, and a subtly low setting for climbing would be the cat’s meow.
My backup handheld green light will light up a football field, so if I am in need of bright light getting out of dodge, I’m covered there. I currently have a ridiculously powerful white light headlamp powered by 18650 batteries that I would like to transition to a blood tracking only light instead of my only headlamp.

My personal opinion is that it depends on the deer you have. I have seen a white light send deer running to the next county while others just stand there and let you walk right by. I dont have any experience with a green light. I bought a red light last year for predator hunting. I've used it a few times and had it on different deer multiple times and none have spooked and it did not appear to affect them at all. I am going to use a red light only this year and see what happens. Does anyone know anything about the DanForce lights?
Yes, there is a dimming mode, high mode, and flashing mode. The front lense moves forward and back to tighten the light stream. They are LED and reach out to 200 yards. For the price, you cannot beat it. They are durable as can be.Dang..... this might be a dead ringer. Any idea if there are dimming modes built in? Or is it just on/off?

Black Diamond Storm headlamp it's waterproof and has a white lead a red lead green lead in a blue lead awesome headlampI am looking for a really good, RED headlamp for hunting.
I am not too picky on battery type, but definitely want red, and very good power.
It seems there’s all kinds of lights on the market right now, but they only advertise how bright the main white light is. There seems to be very little info on how bright the red or RGB.
Anyone have a really nice, rugged headlamp with good red light brightness they can recommend?

Zebralight H502r. Runs on AA batteries. I have two reds, one white. Awesome lights. Low, medium and High Settings. If you really want an ass kicker of a light, get one of theirs that runs on an 18650 battery... LOTS of options.
I'll put in my vote for Zebralight as best headlamps and flashlights on the market.
X2 nitcore makes awesome products. Also check out fenix. I have several REALLY bright lights that all run on recharchable 18650 batteries. I always carry 2 extras in my pack so I have spares for my headlamp or regular flashlights. Worth every penny!Nitecore hc50....i got it just for the good red led lights. Way better than many of the other red leds out there that are not a dedicated red light. The red actually has good throw and spread.
