New 2 Panel Saddle

Long time listener, first time caller.
I currently have a Tethrd Phantom saddle. I don't have any major complaints about it besides that after 3-4 hours I am incredibly uncomfortable. I have been hunting with it since 2019 I believe, and I just accept that I am going to be uncomfortable. I have seen and sat in a few 2 panel designs and have been surprised with how much more comfortable that they feel. Where I hunt I like to sit all day even in September so if I could find something that made this more comfortable that would be awesome. I have sat in the Tethrd Lockdown and did really like it besides all the extra length in the straps. I sat in a Timber Ninja and liked it as well but dang are they expensive and I haven't seen many people on here even talk about them let alone run them. So I am looking for your guys advice on other 2 panel saddles I should look at and consider. Thanks!

Can you give us more details about how it get uncomfortable for you? Depending on what the issue is, it might not be the saddle that is the MAIN cause of your discomfort. We are all gear enablers here haha, but there might be other things that would solve your discomfort issues too.

Some things to consider:
-Running your bridge longer, this usually help if you are feeling pinches.
-Use a backband. Most 2 panels are basically a saddle with a backband build into them. This could be an inexpensive upgrade to your current saddle.
-If its issue with your legs, a different saddle might not solve this issue. Sometime leg fatigues is the source of other comfort issues. Maybe a larger or angled platform might solve this.

@bowhunthard88 suggest 2 really good saddle. Also check out a Recon for a very budget friendly 2 panels. It is not the most user friendly due to it being very basic, but once you dial it to your body type, it is VERY comfortable.

So I currently do run a back band with my single panel and it does help. It seems to get really uncomfortable in my hips the most. I am also 6'2" and 220 so that's not helping me any either. Legs have never really been an issue for me, normally my hips are the first to go.

So, hip pinch...? I found that I could eliminate 90% of the dreaded hip pinch, in the Phantom; by playing with the comfort channels, running my tether mid-chest height, a full-length bridge, and running the saddle below my belt line. It took me about 2-3 weeks of playing before I got it dialed. I don't own that saddle anymore though, and found "almost perfect" comfort in a Cruzr XC. I've played and owned a few two-panel saddles, but I've come to love the simplicity of a single-panel.

Ok. It happens. It honestly could simply be that your body is not a good fit for that saddle. It happens all the time. Some people will find one saddle that feel perfect and another person would find that exact saddle a torture device.

This is a little outdated but a good comparison video about 2 panels. But again, its important to realizes that with the extra adjustibility of 2 panels, more time is needed to find the perfect configuration so give it time. 2 Panels are great!

I have a Recon 2 panel and I did quite a few all day sits last season in it. I also made my own 2 panel based on the old Anderson sling from a thread on here entitled the "Wraptor". I love 2 panel saddles. Both are comfortable enough. I think there is a disconnect sometimes when people talk about comfort. The saddle needs to be comfortable enough to sit out a dark to dark sit in the cold and not fidget much. I seriously doubt that any saddle would be considered comfortable by anyone that isn't a hunter. If you ask someone if they were truly comfortable sitting it a Millennium M100 for 12 hours in 20 degrees and remining still, they probably would admit it was not.

I hunted out of a Tethrd Phantom for a couple years with the same experiences as you. Switched to a Latitude Method 2 and love it. Saddle comfort is very individualized, but I’m 6’3” 210# so we are similar sized.

I hunted last season with a Dryad Drey. Most comfortable Ever had since I started in the 90’s with an Anderson Tree Sling.

I’ve tried a ridiculous number of saddles since last year and I’ll be in a Buzzard Roost Saturday morning. I haven’t tried any other 2 panels, but I can’t see how it can get better.

I've owned 11 different ones now haha. I'm down to two Cruzr XCs (two different sizes) and a Mini-Drey. I still wanna try a King Cobra and a Lonestar...

I bought the full-sized Drey to be used with a regular body harness or my XC.
Do you think the full-size Drey is too much for all 'round use?
( I haven't used it hardly at all )
