New Gear Release 2022!

I just saw big T started a new sister company and site to go along with their move to TN. Finally a suitable application for the mantis!

Is something like this really in demand? Its everything I dont like in a stick all rolled into one. What am I missing?

I find these attributes to my liking:

Flattest packing
Long standoff distance
Machined metal construction
American made
Integrate with stands (and platforms)
Thick step
Rotating standoff
Pack well with cable aiders

Though, I prefer a round versa bolt to the machined T.

If it's the short length that's your complaint, I believe it's meant to pair with the Fix for a smaller profile package. Folks who don't like sticks outside of the profile of their stand may also like them.

I bought 3 of the 17" a couple weeks ago for pretty much the reasons stated above. Love them so far, very solid on the tree. Would love that little machined piece, good, simple solution.

On the climber thing, I have a Timber Tall treestand from around 2010 that is 12lbs I believe. Haven't used it a ton but it's been fine whenever I did. It's just not as compact as the LW hand climber but it is better IMO for rifle hunting.

What is the distance from the tree to the outside edge of the step?TIA

I remember those. Looked at a Baby Lite I think it was called, but the weight rating was too low for me.

Just a quick side question, is water jet pretty standard on all the sticks/climbers/platforms?

No…most of the Custom Gear stuff is. The beast stand is. This new elevated treestand company is which was started by an employee that left custom gear and these latitude platforms look like they might be. The rest are mostly either cast or tubed aluminum/steel

Most platforms and stands are either plasma cut, welded, or die casted. Then sanded/milled for the final appearance. Water jetting is awesome because it’s CNC controlled and because you don’t have the potential for warping from heat ect… I am glad to see some companies using it although it costs a little more per unit than casting or welding them does.
