I think that new Phase 4 looks pretty slick. However, since it's a pretty big departure from the norm, it's definitely something I would wait a year before buying so others can work out the kinks. I'll pay for the Phase 4.1 :p

Does that mean v3 prices will go down?
It might. I've seen the year or two old marked down some. I got that solution ss for 150$ off but still brand new.

Also @thedutchtouch , Elite, Darton, PSE, bowtech have released the next generation bows so far. I heard hoyt should be anytime and Prime might be bumped to DEC ( no, it's not a problem. I can't find any deer but that's not the bows fault :tearsofjoy: )

Ah good to know, I figured there's probably more I just happened to see this one and it looked the most different than current with the "extra" limbs. I will not be buying a flagship bow any time soon, 'll be sticking with my Bear cruzer for a bit, or my HC mini. Next is a trad bow to complete the beginner set lol.

So did Bear actually. I think Martin too. Trad will probably be next up for me too!

8 limbs…. Nope.

New stabilizer mounting is ridiculous. Need Mathews $270 stabilizer to utilize it. Also, just the side bar mount is $200!

Sounds like they ran out of ideas.

Next year when Bowtech brings the timing lock feature to hunting bows I might give them a try again. In the meantime my current bow suits me just fine.

According to MFJJ it has a standard bushing as well so you aren't stuck having to run the Mathews stabilizer.

All the supposed innovation the last 10 years in bows is all smoke and mirrors. They're the same thing over and over. Nothing's wrong with my Bowtech Insanity for 10 years now.
All the innovation is in crossbows. They make leaps and bounds every year since Ravin forced everyone to innovate

I'd rather buy the V3X than the Phase 4 I think. Seems like a bunch of gimmicks to me.

I haven't bought a new bow since 2006. Seems like there's been a lot of gimmicks since then, lol.

I'm maybe a bit leary of the durability of the new limb system until it's proven, but it seems like it's effectively reducing vibration. Gimmick? Idk. On the one hand, does accomplish it's goal? On the other hand, how little vibration does one require?

Other than the limbs and an optional stabilizer, they're basically the same bow from what I'm hearing. $50 difference.

I hear Ravin has a lot of law suits. They maybe innovated in too many leaps.

Could be. I don't have one. But you can see how competitors like 10pt sat on their laurels til Ravin came along. They def nudged the industry way forward for better or worse

Or Ten Point jumped onboard that same sinking boat. I don't really know, just rumors I've heard at the local Pro shop.

Ah…. The Mathews switchweight was innovative I guess. For manufacturing and retailer purposes. All they need to do is order 1 base bow and they can change out mods for weight and DL changes. But…. Mathews is milking that one.

IMO opinion the only one that really brought innovation to market in the compound bow arena was Bowtech. The dead lock cam really innovated left/right adjustments. Made shimming and yoke tuning obsolete. Very smart… now the new timing lock on the cams you can take care of a stretched cable or perfect your bow timing with the twist of a wrench. No longer need a bow press for tuning those bows. Simply and easy….. pure genius…

RAVIN really did flip the stagnant crossbow market. 100% agree with that one.

Which bows have timing lock?

Unrelated but found a goof on the Bowtech site. Checking the One for that timing lock. It says diamond :tearsofjoy: ( I know BT makes diamond but this is your 3 years in the making carbon offering)Screenshot_20221116_131640_DuckDuckGo.jpg

I agree. Bows have reached the point of diminishing returns over the last several years. My 2009 compound bow is nearing its third dozen of animals killed (36). My average shot distance for all those animals over the last 14 seasons is exactly 20 yards. It has taken a variety of animals (moose, bear, elk, deer) across 8 different states. At no point over the last 14 seasons would a “new and shiny” bow have resulted in any different outcome on any single hunt. The new bows are insignificantly faster and the draw cycles may appear to be “so much smoother to some”…...but the reality is this - it’s not the bow.

I'm moving towards trad bow and dont plan on buying a compound bow for a while, but you guys are too dismissive of the improvement in technology. Yes its only 1-2 minor things every years, but they add up. Yes, you can win with older bows and its 95% the shooter. But if you're livelihood and passion to being the best you can be or to squeezes as much accuracy as you can from anything, nothing wrong with drinking the Kool-Aid. Everyone laughed at Tim Gillingham's bow setup when he first debut it, but they are no longer laughing now that he basically blowing everyone out of the water in competition. I'm just saying, there is improvement, even if you don't think its worth it, great tech innovation should be admired even if it not your kind of thing.
