New Saddle

Which platform did you go with? Also I am from Florida so cold weather doesn’t really apply but on the occasions that we get in the 30’s or low 40’s I wear my saddle over my top jacket, so that the bridge loops aren’t creating an air gap
Currently use if 4 hawk mini sticks with the hawk platform on my top stick.

The type of platform you use can alter how you use your saddle as well. That along with tether height positioning will help make you more comfortable during longer sits
A few things I learned this evening, don’t wear my knife on my belt! Dug into my hip! And either get knee pads or a of on the tree! Knees started to hurt when I set!

Yes sir knee pads make a huge difference as well. A good pair of the thick gel pads with a hard shell from Home Depot will work. There are a couple saddle companies that sell good ones as well. Some guys love Arcteryx. I use these https://www.511tactical.com/exo-k-gel-kneepad.html

For your setup, I'd go with ROS so you can straddle the tree.

It doesn't sound like you can likely use screw in steps, Treehoppers might be the ticket.

How do you guys carry your sticks up the tree so you don’t have to come back down?
Lots of ways to attach them to you. At base of tree, attach first stick. Put one on each side of you hanging with a gear tie or rope n clip of some kind. You should be using a lineman’s belt with sticks so you can be hands free. There are some kydex clips that will clip into the Molle loops on your saddle(it’s another purchase though). Easiest n cheapest way is to make loops out of paracord and hitch them to your saddle molle loops. Then hang sticks to them loops w/Versa button. I made loops out of paracord the same way you’d make a loop for a prussik. Instead of cinching the friction know tight, you can use the two lines between the friction knots to make a loop that’s adjustable. Gear ties are maybe the easiest.
