Novix tree stand!

I just bought Novix Helo as well. Gonna run it with 4 Novix mini double steps. Thanks to all who unknowingly helped me decide. I was going with Assault 2 but the deal was too good at $204 and likely a little lighter. I'm going to play with it. I'm barely 5'6" and 160lb. I may cut some metal off that seat as well. A wealth of information from the group! Thank you.

I've been trying to tweak to a quiet set up. This is what I've settled with. Had to drill some holes for some bolts to use my treestand cam strap to hold my 4 sticks on ^

I'm done with the Helo cut seat and cut seat post 2in down from top seat 18in just like my .5 it's really nice a lot more room even with seat down.Screenshot_20210725-000159_Gallery.jpgScreenshot_20210725-000154_Gallery.jpg

Oh yea. I'm liking it a lot. Sticks are the quietest setting and the stand is the quietest ive found. Plus it packs up tight.

Can you router foam?? Take 2" thick foam and router out an inch to let the cast seat set in inside?? That would cover the edges and top but not raise the seat height. Or wpuld it melt..

Foam can be CNC router and water jet cut.

It's easier to just glue up cut pieces.

Does your strap contact the batwing now?

Just watched this video. Man the seat look so disproportional to the platform!

Since you crazy cats are already cutting the seat. Anyone ever consider cutting the front of platform too? Not advocating anyone doing anything unsafe. But how many inches would you lose cutting this section off? I feel you would save at least 2 lbs. @KYhunter66

I would not recommend cutting the platform the seat was ok because I was able to keep the main part that takes all the weight.I took the cut part of the seat and tryed to bend to see what it would take to break and it broke easily!

Enough said. Completely agree with you.

Interesting because I see ACTUAL saddles platforms being cut down all the time....

I’ll be trimming the seat but not the stand the outer edge is stronger/bigger than the inside I think it would weaken it
All I did after this picture was turn the plastic stopper upside down and moved the bat wing bracket up 1/2 in up to the plastic plate straps don't contact the bracket at all now.Screenshot_20210726-115238_Chrome.jpg
