NutterBuster's 7oz Pocket Tether

Don’t forget ropes have protective sheaths that allow the core to maintain the strength of the rope. Webbing obviously doesn’t have that additional protection so the rating is constantly decreasing as it wears. Just something to keep in mind.

I keep coming back and looking at this and just about talked myself into ordering one of them buckles... I already have about 25 ft of tubular webbing not doing anything. Been considering making a Bridge out of some of it, reckon you could use that buckle and make an adjustable bridge?

Found the same Cobra d ring but it has a buckle and I don't want another point that could come apart. Seems no one has that same one. Not even Austri Aplins dealers.

FYI, their website is back up and running for those who are interested.

Yup. Finally worked for me. Cant wait to try this tether system out. I already trust 1" tubular for a bridge and have no slack in my tether system so feel confident this is going to work well for me. Most especially looking forward to minimizing bulk.

What was the shipping time on this item for those of you who have placed an order? I just ordered one and never seen an estimated ship date in any of the conformation page

@Nutterbuster if you stand up on a platform and slack goes into the tether do you need a hand on the device or tail to weight it again?
I have never used it from a platform, since I use a ring of steps. I would definitely not recommend inducing slack. In my experience the buckle does a good job of locking up when tested on the ground, but I prefer to keep it loaded and ease tension onto it.

Mine took about three weeks. Took two kids turkey hunting this morning. I put a sit drag in one pocket and the tether in another. I got to play with it a few times. So far so good.

I will also add that I’m going to run mine on a carabiner for a while. The more I look at the size of the bar the strap goes around the more I know I’m going to be tying an overhand and hooking the tail end in. If I have to use a carabiner I might as well not have to thread the buckle every time.

That bar is TINY. Gives me heartburn if I stare at it too long.

AustriAlpin makes legit gear though. And 18kN is a lot of Newtons. Mich higher rating than the ropeman or kong a lot of guys use to my understanding. Still no harm in backing something up.

This is interesting stuff. I appreciate the idea, the effort to make the video, and the acknowledgment of safety issues. First class stuff!

I have a "Why not just" question that probably sounds more negative than I intend.

If you are using a standard rope lineman belt system anyway (presumably with Ropeman1 as they are so popular here), why not just use that as your tether and avoid any real or imagined issues with the webbing/AA system?

You're bringing it (the LB rope/Ropeman) in the woods anyway. Are there advantages to the web/AA tether system besides weight/bulk?

Again, don't mean to be petty/picky. Just thinking out loud and curious.

If using the same rope as both a LB and a tether you still need another LB or some other means of staying attached to the tree while you transition from using the rope as a LB to a tether.

My Buckle Came and I'm Liking it. I Run The Tag End Through My Bridge and Tie an Overhand on a Bite. Saves a Biner and I Believe its as Strong as a Biner w/ an Overhand on a Bite.
