NutterBuster's Family Friendly Nutter-Bustin' Contest

I don’t do social media but a buddy sent me this. We could fund the addiction with these little critters

You're literally about the 5th person to show me that in the past few days. It's been making the rounds.

Still hilarious though. Whattaya think we could charge for a size 2 made from a fox squirrel?

so we usually drop a few with the air rifle in the back yard tree fort or from off the deck - my 14 year old took one out Sunday and we tried the slit and pull cleaning method - worked well! Fried that guy up and my 19 month old son devoured it. He loves venison too, so I have no doubts he will grow into a little wild game serial killer like his brothers ;)

So I'm taking my cubicle-compadre, Toby (fake name) on his first hunt tomorrow. The committee has decided that any squirrels Toby shots count towards NutterBuster's total.

Any of the rest of you guys kritter-killin'?

So I finally got a little Nutter Bustin' done this weekend. Got to take a co-worker on his first ever hunting trip.

He

Ate

It

Up!!

Pictured is him with his very first skwerl, which he cleaned and devoured like a real man. He bagged 3 in total, which is respectable for a first hunt. Watching him with a plate of squirrel at lunchtime was like watching a bulldog lick the insides of a mayonnaise jar. I was afraid to get near him.

Also pictured is the results of this morning's hunt. Since somebody managed to shoot the last of my #5s up yesterday, I was handicapped with a rifle. It's still too dang thick for that noise.

I did make a pretty good 60 yard shot though. It's a rewarding feeling to watch one swan-dive from that far away.

I’m up to number 2!
I spent almost the entire day in the woods. Scouted from 9-2 then went to another spot and took a walk to check out the area but going slow looking for squirrels. This was the only squirrel I saw ALL day. #2 for the air rifle at 25 yards.

I was planning on going over Thanksgiving with my boys but there's tons of snow, not sure they will enjoy it, lol, I told my wife, I've got the kids.....but they will probably end up in the woods shooting squirrels with me, HAHAHA!

Roll tide! I need to abandon deer hunting until the rut kicks in and start squack-whackin' again for a bit.

Today is my last, hail mary hunt until January. Remind me to never attempt a serious hunt during gun deer opener again. Deer are L O C K E D D O W N. Guess our December Doldrums started a week or two early.

But I've seen deer and ducks on about every sit.

You gonna spit-roast that big guy?

I have busted zero nutters this year. My annual Thanksgiving weekend hunt has been destroyed by having to travel to visit the old man. And the first time flying with the kids, probably going to be a true ****.

Our small game seasons go out during deer rifle season. Really freaking stupid and no other states do it far as I know but is what it is. Hoping for some warm calm squirrel weather over Christmas. My .22 has been dying to take her for a walk.

He's in the fridge right now. Going out again maybe tonight, most likely tomorrow morning. I'm hoping to get enough together to try some squings.

You use of "bama-fan simple" always made me think you rooted for someone other than Alabama. The quote above now confuses me. :)

Bama-fan simple is self deprecating humor maybe?
I have never sat through a ball game of any kind. :) "Roll Tide" is just a verbal tic you pick up when you got family in Tuscaloosa.

I have 3 young boys 6, 4, and 3. I have yet to take them hunting and am starting to feel like a bad father. My plan is to get a .22 and take them squirrel hunting soon!

Bought my son a .22 last spring, a savage rascal. I really have to lean on him to shoot. He wanted to hunt a deer this year but I told him he couldnt because he didnt practice enough. Im going to put a scope on that gun soon. I have a .243 for him but not sure he can even get around it to shoot it with light recoil ammo. He is 7.5 . Waiting till I was 12 didnt kill my passion, no worries. They will either pick it up or they wont.

My thing is I pushed him hard on fishing and may have already burned him out on that so Im walking a fine line. Basically its "hey buddy you wanna shoot"... nah.... "ok well if you dont practice you cant hunt"

That mirrors my situation. My dad pushed me too hard and I did’t come back into fishing and hunting untill I went to college. What he did left an impression on me though. I’m trying to ease them into it.
