Hope so! I have a Milwaukee heated hoodie that I like, especially since I can run it nearly all day on an 18v battery, but I don’t like the sleeve cuffs on it since they are tight and chaff my wrists by the end of the day. (Even considered cutting the sleeves off but have not done so yet!)

Cut them off, this is the Vest thread man! I have been using the Milwaukee heated vest over my base layers for the last two seasons and am pretty dang happy with it. I don’t use the Milwaukee hoody at all anymore. When things get real nasty I also use a north face down vest between layers.

I like vests…

Early season the Sitka stratus vest for outer wear.

Kuiu super down I picked up on sale haven’t got to use it.

been using the pnuma heated vest but unless you have it next to skin it doesn’t get warm enough in my experience to wear a baselayer under it and it ain’t that comfortable next to skin. Was hoping to try the scentlok reactor vest but it’s never in stock.

Midwayusa uses top of the line material such as Primaloft Gold for half the price of the Sitka and other, pay for the name/pattern, brands yall love that usually uses the next 1-2 levels down on material like Primaloft Silver. Pnuma Heated vest is to be worn next to skin as stated by manufacturer. I sleep in mine.

Primaloft gold is best insulation outside of down. Unbelievable how warm it is and also extremely packable.

I just used the sitka core lightweight base layer under it and it did ok. I didn't think it would feel that great without anything underneath it either.

If you're looking for an alternative to your Pnuma heated vest, the Ororo Heated Vest should do the trick for you. Mine brings plenty of heat through my base layer, which is usually a Sitka Heavyweight Zip-T (and sometimes a Sitka Midweight Zip-T in addition).

You guys suck. I'm trying my hardest not to hit buy
Don't worry...if u keep yourself under control today it'll be back on there next week to tempt u again....

I have a small collection of vests. Nothing nice. The warmest is a really loud material puffy vest I got from the thrift store made by old navy.... The other puffy 1 is off camofire...python isn't the brand name but it's close...I can't remember the real name... It's ok... Nothing special but it's camo I guess. I got another from the same company off camofire that is like a softshell fleece mix...I like that 1. It Rolls up small, quiet material, and warm for it's size. I wear it as a mid layer I guess... Vest 1st and fleece pull over on top and I'm good archery/muzzloader and maybe a little into gun. I got another from academy. It's Magellan brand... It is a fleece double sided and it has billowy insulation in-between the camo side and orange side... I got it 1 size large to use as a warm orange vest and it is the 2nd warmest.

That insulator 1u guys are talking about is tempting... Maybe next week

Maybe Plythal? I got one of those too. It’s more of a puffy (compressible) vest than the insulator vest. That insulator is nice though.

Kind of a vest novice. You guys size vests similar to jackets? Meaning on jackets I like a little room for layers. Vests however should be fairly snug correct?

Broke down and ordered the Missy Oak Sherpa lined vest for $50 today to try out. Bought a few other Sherpa lined items from the during one of their sales and have been happy with them. Wouldn’t pay full price for anything they carry. I’ll see how the vest fits.

My search for orange vest may have ended. I picked up a made in the US Cabela’s orange upland vest (?). It’s older but looks brand new. Thick tough canvas type material that seems like it’s made for the briar patch. Front pockets, back pouch and a separate pouch accessible via side zippers. Snap buttons in front and on rear back pouch. The thing seems bullet proof. This is one of the ones that they don’t make new ones like anymore.
