Oldies, but Goodies...

I have no idea how you remembered that existed but thank you to the deep recesses of your brain that have undoubtedly blocked out your first born’s birthday with the knowledge that thread exists.

This one comes up occasionally…

So does this one:

This thread is great. Just getting into this a couple years ago it’s amazing to be able to appreciate how much the early adopters and innovators did.

Furniture bracket ROS...

Scooter Foot Rest Platforms:
I like these better than some of the new ones

For those who have been around here a while, dump something in this thread "from the archives" that makes you smile or laugh. DIY stuff from the "good old days" or ideas/info that helped you starting out. Saddle nostalgia...

Example, I'll go first with these classics: (Not my photos)

This is great but good lord some of the others literally have me in tears rn

And in this thread you can find at least two fleece saddles. One is a no sew saddle that has got the be the most comfortable saddle you can build in less than ten minutes and ten dollars. It also has no safety items so a RCH should be required. The other is the famous woobie sling by @BCHunter

I thought this was known as the preacher's seat... Because the whole time you sat in it, you prayed it didn't break.
it was called a preacher seat. Onehair was a user name on bow site that posted a thread there about it. I think that was the first time I’d ever seen one.

Here’s another one.

I started using this as a tether in 2019. There were many safety related questions. I really liked how compact a tether the webbing made so I decided to use it and and change it out every year. Looking at this old thread I now realize it’s four years old and I haven’t changed it. I think I’ll retire it in January. Probably the best thing @Nutterbuster ever introduced me to.

Ok that’s enough reminiscing. I’m getting a little teary eyed now so I’m going to go to bed.

Here’s a couple pics of @huck72412
One where he’s cheating on his girlfriend.

The other when he realized the value of his trophyline collection had plummeted after we finally got someone to build a streamlined saddle that worked.View attachment 96142View attachment 96143

That second picture reminds when he was calling dinosaurs at the last Saddleploosa I went to! LOL

Here’s a step machined out of I believe 1/2x3x3 aluminum angle that @ImThere was kind enough to let me try out. From a time when no one was making them and 20 year old trophylines were bringing a premium.View attachment 96139

Still use them. They were a cheap idea that would have worked ok but I’d say squirrel steps are superior!!

Hah. I don't even remember that thread anymore. Man things were different back then.
Ya. I had somehow missed that one in all my back reading. I thought the 2018 secret thread was the OG.

Definitely different times.
