OOAL Sticks

It is fun to watch the conversations like this on prices of products. Most of us don't think twice about dropping $1k or more on a bow or xbow that will not last even close to what these sticks will. The same people complain about a near $300 saddle too. If we really want them or other gear, just do a few extra keto fasting days and stick the meal money away for the new toys. I would pay $1k in a heartbeat for the right sticks, but no one has come up with a sub 1lb that folds or telescopes enough for me quite yet! I do think these are about as good as we get until someone comes up with a new material.

Let’s be real. The cost is relative only to quantity and where it’s being manufactured. That and market demand. Beast and LWCG already proved their is a demand for high-end sticks, regardless of if they’re actually worth the material and labor cost.

Hawk can do $100 sticks because they’re made overseas. Make it stateside and yeah, you’re doubling or tripling cost. Add that made in USA badge to your product and demand a premium.

Actually I’d expect beast sticks to come down in price now that initial tooling and dies have been sunk. Guess they know their market.

This is not an argument against high end gear, btw. I’ll have to save up more than just a few missed meals for a set of 4, however.

It’s interesting. I really like this concept and was prepared to just buy right away, but I admits $100 has me questioning it. I am a little gunshy in LWCG as I bought and sold an Ambush. But their mini sticks have a lot of similar features. Now I will have to ask myself upon this next stick purchase which I should buy - the high end OOAL or the “budget friendly” LWCG, which I think is $25 less per stick in the minis. That translates to $100 across a set. Honestly no sure which way I would go at that price point.

.... note - not saying they aren’t worth it. Companies should sell their products for whatever the market demands; just sharing that $100 might cause me to look elsewhere in the market - personal choice, that’s all. Looks like an exciting product.

Lots of folks spend more than 4-5 of these would cost on a car payment every month without batting an eye, which is hilarious. And as has been mentioned previously buy bows every year etc. These types of sticks are once in a lifetime purchases. Hunting can cost as little or as much as you'd like.

My favorite part of the price complaints is it usually comes from folks who scream bloody murder at the companies who outsource overseas. Do you want American made gear, and all the socioeconomic benefits that come with that? Or do you want gear, at a price that makes you happy individually?

Private truths and public lies...

These sticks are pretty sweet - first hand experience. I’ll stay out of the pricing conversation, as it’s an unwinnable battle.

beast sticks are sourced overseas. LWCG sticks are pumped out through waterjet. For the price they should be machined to some pretty tight tolerances.

I would say Beast sticks have the greatest profit margins. These OOAL sticks look really impressive but I would have to put my hands and feet on them before shelling out another $400 on sticks. Then sell my current sticks to pay for these! But for me they are a bit short. I do not want to have to use aiders and 17" would leave me a about 2 feet shorter than my current set up.

And the packing length is 27”. That’s the problem with a folding step. The reason they aren’t 20” sticks is theyd dang near pack like a full length 32” stick then and people would complain. I believe Jesus could make a stick he deemed perfect and this crowd would criticize it.

Bottom line is we have equipment now that guys never dreamed of and most of the guys complain about this or that. I think Matt his the cost right on the head. In conparrison to the other sticks offered in that price range, his combines the both. He has the LWCG’s pack ability and the Beast sticks double step.

As previously mentioned, skip a car payment and buy 7 of them.

Jesus was a DIY'er though. I mean he turned the water into wine and just look what he did with that group of knuckleheads we normally refer to as disciples. He's been finding usefulness in the worn out and broken for a couple thousand years now. Just sayin.

Pack pretty sweet on the hybrid. If this works as well as I think it might, theres a chance I actually use more than one stick on occasion...

Any possibility you can give a video review? Not sure if OOAL will allow that but thought I would ask.
