Option for climbing platform

This is funny. I had something very similar mocked up last winter but ended up disassembling it for parts without ever trying it.

I’m going on four years with the same LWHC which has worked well in my case. The light weight and packability are ideal. Anticipating that it will fail at some point I modified the top portion of my Summit Open Shot by welding on an aluminum plate for a climbing platform. I still use it as my seat when using my recurve out of the Open Shot since I haven’t figured out how to shoot a 66” recurve out of my JX 3. It’s a few pounds heavier than my LWHC and it doesn’t fold flat, but it climbs like a breeze, and is rock solid in the tree.

I really like the Summit. What you've done here seems perfect! I had an Open Shot 20 years ago and don't know what I did with it. I guess I will have to find another one.

Would it be bad form to post a link to the patent? I think I found it.

Edit: This thing is bad ass. It solves the problem of getting around limbs. Wink wink.
