Overwatch Orion

Jamie is pretty frickin amazing. I saw the Orion video and was torn between it and a transformer. So, Jamie said call him. So very cool. Good conversation about the two, how I’m built, how I climb and hunt. Ordered a transformer but he said several times to try it and if it wasn’t working call again or even send it back. And he’s a full time student! Amazing customer service. Can’t wait for my transformer to show up!

So the first of the Orions have just started to make it to customers and there is already a redesign on a portion of it?
I look at that as more of an option. I've got the rope belt running in sleeve around waist with no pressure. Great option for those that are worried!

Just got a sneak speak at the new Orion dual belt design. Rope on top of the saddle instead of being behind the top suspension will alleviate pressure points.

I think that is a picture of mine....can't wait to get it in my hands. I think it will be exactly what I've been looking for. I wanted the adjustable rope belt. He puts them up top through those loops because it prevents the rope from digging into you, or noticing it is there. Probably the same theory as to why the belt on your pants is at the top and now lower on your waist. I am also getting the belt with the Raptor buckle at the same time, just to have that option in case the adjustable rope belt isn't what I was looking for. I added a few other custom options, I'll post some photos when I get it.

So why an Orion instead of a Transformer? I'm a 1sticker/SRT combo. Plus a 95% sitter. I have been in the camp of 2 panels for a while. I like the fact that the Transformer can basically be a 1 panels if you want it to. I can see the benefit of the pleats, but why not pick the versatility of being able to be 2 panels if you wanted it to. Is it the fact that most people don't deployed the upper panel that high up to support their back anyway so the pleat when fully extended is what most settle their 2 panels to, so there is no need for 2 separate panels?

X2. I don’t understand the appeal. In all fairness I never sat in a pleated saddle, but what does it do that a 2-panel doesn’t do and more?

For me it’s mostly I just want to try it.
Love my transformer, but like you said if I spread the panels it’s typically only about an inch. While I don’t mind the d rings I know it’s a deal breaker for others. He’s also offering a new rope belt for the Orion so if you remove the leg straps, which I do, the only metal left will be the three little tri glides. Loosing all the buckles and d rings will also make this saddle lighter than the transformer.
