Overwatch Orion

I honestly think it's just a body shape thing. I had a transformer. Loved everything about it except that two panel saddles just don't fit me. I've tried a Method, Transformer, Recon and Wraptor clone. Having four sets of straps eventually create pressure on my hips no matter how I adjusted the two panels. Some people love two panels though.

I am more comfortable in single panels, specifically my Kestrel but @JCLINE84 is killing me with this Orion. He made the Wraptor for me years ago, and obviously the Transformer. I have a feeling I'll be sending him more money soon.
I never know how much I’m allowed to say outside of the vendor section so delete this if I’m overstepping, but having spent a ton of time In both saddles I’ll give my thoughts on the differences. I’ll just speak in general terms of single panel vs two panel. I think you nailed the feeling difference between a two panel and single panel. The four straps compared to two are the biggest difference. Dimensionally they are very similar, but the two panel feels much firmer and those straps across your hips can be a deal breaker for some guys. The single panel feels much softer and as long as you get the geometry right you can get the straps off of the hip joint but not so high that you’re on the iliac crest. I have seen a lot of guys try both saddles and I still can’t land on a reason someone prefers one over the other except that the two panel guys just really like the extra support and the single panel guys hate the squeezing feeling that support causes. So they like a soft single panel.

My main takeaway is @GCTerpfan must be a sensitive fellow.

@JCLINE84 creating saddles/personality tests. A man of many talents!

I think you nailed it.

Well, I've had it for a few days. As others have said, these things are flawless. Truly craftsman type of quality. I went with the ranger green/earth tone colors. It matches my Kifaru pack perfectly. So when I eat tag soup, at least I will look good doing it. Kifaru fan boy level 10 unlocked. One thing I appreciate that's a small detail is the two different Raptor buckles. The leg loops have the larger ears for ease of use, while the belt buckle has the smaller ears so that they don't dig into your waist. I got the webbing belt with Raptor buckle just as a backup and in case I liked it better than the adjustable rope belt. After sitting in it for a short period of time, the adjustable rope belt is going to work great for me. It locks down tight and the loops at the top work well for the rope belt. When at height, I loosened the belt a little and it was like it was not even there. As far as comfort, this is definitely in the top tier for me when compared to other saddles, and I've pretty much tried them all. Now the wait until next season begins before I can put it through its proper paces.

Perfect description @JCLINE84 !

Awesome looking saddle and those rope belts are excellent. The ease of use and ability to hold weight is awesome

I finally got a chance to use mine today. Needless to say, I’m not in the market for a saddle anytime soon. I’ll keep my Transformer as a backup or to introduce my nephew to saddle hunting if he gets the itch to try.

Got it all rigged up and ready to hunt.
I asked Jaime if he had any ideas for attaching a one stick to the saddle since I do a lot of short hunts close to the truck after work on week days. Of course he had so he sent me some buckles. Male ends girth hitch to the molle, female slides onto the 1” stick. Seems to work just fine in the basement. With this and my bow I’m ready to hunt. Tx5 pouch has 40’ canyon elite. Latitude pouch has Doyle’s, paracord gear strap w/ hero clip bow holder, 4 hawk monkey bars on ocb, safeguard and biner, and release. Weight came in at 12 lbs.
