R26 limb splinter

Update

Took it to my bow ship today and he said he call Ravin and have new limbs sent to him and he’ll change them out. He confirmed some of you guys thoughts on it….it wasn’t a good situation. Said it’ll about a week, but I seriously doubt that. Meanwhile I’ll go back to being a real bow hunter with my Bowtech solution ss.

Hope you knock a big one down with the ol SS.

From what I'm reading, the consensus seems to be that heavier bolts lessen wear-and-tear on xbow limbs. Not sure the data on that but it makes some sense to me; the theory is that the lighter the bolt, the closer it is to a dry fire. I've put 300gr SteelForce SBs on my bolts to weight them up. Not sure what Ravin says about heavy bolts but might be something to consider.

Talk about customer service! One week from dropping it and and I got a call this morning saying it’s ready. I thought it’d be down for a few weeks. Ravin shipped out new limbs as soon as my bow shop called.

That's a good turn-around time. 3 weeks would have been a good turn-around time but 1 week even better. Also, a good dealer has a lot to do with that.

I am working on a R26 today, building a new string and cables and installing them. Also, he wants another set of string/cables to have for backup. I had to go to the local shop and buy some pocket rockers as he lost his when the cables blew. So, if you ever have the cables blow, make sure you keep up with the rockers as they will fall out rather easily. New rockers are about $20 for a set of 4.

Did that put a hurtin on your wallet?

Glad you had a better customer service experience than I did. Took 9 weeks to get a response from Ravin when I had an issue with a brand new R26X. After sending it in, took another month to get it back.
