Ring of Steps……. Preferred step?

Up for more opinions
I’ve used wood blocks and now Treehopper steps. I’m not sure I love the upward angle of the Treehopper steps. Has anyone else had issue with standing awkwardly for long durations on the angled step?

What length did you go with? I'm thinking 4" long, .25 thick would be ideal for me. I'm debating on 1" or 1.5" wide. What did you do? Who has a band saw I got 6-12 steps I need to make.

I have some around here somewhere. I think. Lol. Someone brought them back to me at saddleploosa and they’re still in the same bag. Maybe I can find them and show what I made. They’re cut from 3/4” to 1.5” if memory serves. I made them when we were trying to come up with something during the same time as squirrel steps.

Best in the business! The slotted ones work great on the back side of a platform as well

Is there noticeable difference in the stability of the 1” step vs 3/4”? Haven’t seen much disco about the newer 1” size.

Yes, for sure more stable. But they are heavier… no one wants that…lol

I’ve been eyeing the tree hopper steps. Anyone have experience with those relative to the others?
I use three of the Treehopper with my shikar one stick setup. They are certainly bulkier than many of the other steps butt are very stable on the tree. The steps are angled up slightly with a very aggressive groove pattern making them very secure. I’m happy with them and may setup an independent ROS setup for my daughter who’s likely switching to a saddle this year.

I picked up my first ROS to try this year, went with (4x) treehopper steps on one of his OCB with an extended pry bar thing.

Would love to get my hands on a set of the Silent Approach Minimalist Ring of Step Platform, unfortunatly they don't ship overseas:angry:, Saddle hunting gear is non exsistent here in Australia. At the moment my DIY setup is SRT since I already have the gear, tried making my own saddle, not happy with it, so it's back to my climbing harness and I'll probably try making a light weight "Treesuit" style saddle, and find something I can make a RoS style platform of.
Lots of good info in this group, Thanks
