Saddle hunters support thread.

I believe he qualified his response with using it to haul gear in and setting up. Then you most likely do not want velcro but I wondered that myself actually.
If you practiced a little you could prolly make the velcro sound like a deer walking similar to using a walking bag. Not a fan of velcro on gear though.

I have never posted a video to this site. How do I do that? If it’s doable, I can make a video of the Velcro on the K4 pack and how it works and what it sounds like. Or if someone else who now has a K4 has the video posting capability, please go for it.

It looks like it's an imbedded link to YouTube, not the actual file!

@Zero One Actual I can try to record that this evening and post, or you can actually sign up for an account and post videos to YouTube from your phone if you would prefer to do that?

Forgive me guys for I have sin. It has been 45 days since I purchased a hunting related item. But last night my wife gave me a $10 Amazon gift card she won at a raffle. Told me I can use it to buy an archery glove I have been wanting but resisted. I fell into the siren's call and gave in!

Hmmm that was more than $10!!!!! Where did you get the rest of that money......boy she gives you an inch you just ....

my favorite pocket knife of all time is the spyderco stretch.....i'm considering getting a spare in case they ever stop making it or i lose one mid-season....i think the idea of getting extras with me started during the supply chain issue related to covid

The number 1 rule of hunting gear.
If it's good, they quit making it!

I have the same issue... Two is one and one is none. I have a hard time not having a fully-functional and set up backup to almost all my hunting gear.

yeah, I have several spydercos that would work for hunting....but just one stretch....and it's the best one (designed for hunting by spyderco's founder and it is his favorite, supposedly....perfect ergos).

I wear a 14W and have learned as soon as I find a gem of a running shoe or boot or whatever, I have to buy two or three pair and store them. Because companies always release new stuff and it’s always a bit different.

Same reason I laughed when someone asked me why I have two bows. You think two is a problem? Let me show you SH.com.

I'm thinking saddle hunting must draw larger guys in due to regular stands being too small.

There's just way too many guys over 6 foot on here, compared to general population.

I'm 70 years old and feeling the weight. I kinda feel like I'm going backwards, kinda. I still love the Summit climber so when they came out with the 6 1/2 pound Summit Saddle Climber I had to have one.

@Zero One Actual I made a terrible video showing my load shelf access without using the Velcro idea for the k4. It'll only work if the stand is shorter than the pack or if you set it up to hang out the bottom/thread the straps through it, instead of needing the stand or sticks to extend our the top, but let me know what you think and if this bypasses the Velcro, or if the top access is 100% necessary. It might have depth issues as well, but I feel like a saddle platform or thinner stand or some stacked sticks could still fit. My platforms and sticks are at the back of a closet at the moment or I'd load them and test it, but hopefully this ramble gets my idea across.
let me know what you think, but please ignore the background, shoddy camera work, and unscripted ramble lol

ended up not only getting the stretch....but added in the largest spyderco folder currently made (spyderco police) for when i can't carry a sidearm

i'm chalking it up to this week being the first time in my adult life that i have zero debt to anyone in any form...it's a celebration i say!

I know my options were the Summit Titan, the ground or a chair of some sort or a saddle. Hang ons are uncomfortable to me and often too small. The Summit is awesome but large and heavy. I have zero issues carrying that weight (currently) but I’m also smart enough to work smarter not harder. So the saddle and a platform of my choosing is the perfect option. Plus I can travel with my setup. I’ve gone to NY, PA, ND, CO etc all with my entire saddle hunting setup in a rolling bag (that’s with four full size beast sticks ). I agree with you that most larger guys who get into a saddle instantly realize how nice it is due to the various options for saddles and platforms.
