Sure wouldn't have minded seeing the metal version instead of nylon

I just ordered 5 of the black alloy anodized ones. I couldn't find a US supplier so I got them from the UK. $65+- US for 5 shipped so that's only $13 a pop. Not bad, especially compared to $25-$30 regular cam cleats. Figure I can toy around with them on my one stick and regular sticks for that matter to see how they work.

I just put together a one-stick off of the Shikar Mini and Scout platform. Matt did say they would be selling the “Monarch” platform separate for something like $99. Looks pretty interesting and it would also be available for Heliums and 1” tubes in the near future as well.

Some cool looking stuff for sure.
Do you know what the Monarch looks like?

I get this is going to be all the rage.....but I am out. I just don't get it. I see no added benefit over a regular flat scout.

My thoughts are you can stand on top or lean on the angle.

I have a predator xl and find that I'm a leaner. Meaning I use just the edge of the stand. An angled place for me feet sounds great. With the benefit of a place to stand for a minute.

This provides the option of both angled and flat surfaces for those who like the foot comfort of the angled when leaning and of the flat when sitting, as well as offering some mobility on stand with the flat. All in 1 piece. I get it, even if I think platform climbing makes more sense than stick climbing...nah...its just preferential to me.

One thing that looks like an advantage in comfort over the scout for leaning is that your foot can comfortably crest the planes between flat and angled. The scout has that ridge that doesn’t quite allow that.

I have the flat scout. It’s great for climbing but feels like you are standing on a narrow rail with bare feet when leaning. I think I will try this monarch out.

Just seems like i would continually bash my shins in the dark.
Scout is 3.25” to the stick.

Monarch looks to be 3.25” to the stick. Flat and angled portions are 3” deep anyway.

Can’t say if you would or wouldn’t bash your shins, but it’s not so different than setups guys have been using, only it is a single unit whereas you needed multiple components in the past for a similar setup.
