All I really did was researched diy holster ideas and bought the supplies on amazon used a heat gun to form the “talons” and laid it out and set the eyelets with a center punch

What fasteners are the lone wolf style cable aider folks using on shikars these days?

I bought the LWCG Cable Aiders. They are legit. They pair really well with the SHIKARS. Adds a 17 inch step to each stick. When stacking them together it will add an inch to the total length because of the metal connectors. With a 24 inch step between sticks this setup will get you to roughly 21 ft to platform. Total weight for one stick with a Tethrd Versa mini and a LWCG Cable Aider is 1.91 lbs.

Did you buy the single or double step oltion from the website. Or does it matter ? Thanks

I went with the Backwoods versa aider. Simple and effective.

Little late to the convo here; but I’m gonna add some input. Haven’t seen much said about the Double Versa Aider from Backwoods Mobile Gear for the Shikars. These things are fantabulous (real word in my dictionary). If your on the fence (I was initially), just fall the hell over and get em. I’m 5’11” Easily getting around the 20 feet arena with (3)17” shikars (I own 5 of them... still have to try to see how hi I can go). The only issue I have is sometimes with the stand off knob the amsteel can get sandwiched in there... but it’s easy to follow your step up and dislodge (or you can just rotate the amsteel so that the bury isn’t going behind the knob).
