I'd be up for this. I hunt there anyway. Won't need to take up a tent spot, I've got a place to stay. One piece of gear you overlooked..GPS or at least a compass.
10 foot frag in the dark... you have no bearings.
I'm not saying y'all aren't good woodsmen but BWR is bigger than you think. First time I scouted there I thought google earth lied..lol

That is a great point, it's been a while since I've gone into the woods without GPS, guess I overlooked it. I'd love to pick your brain a little bit more on hunting in that area! Oh and you should probably just stay with us, you'll miss half the fun if you don't, lol!
 
It appears I will miss this event. My wife surprised me with a 4 day birthday cruise which will leave me without vacation days. I guess I will have to suffer through 4 days of sun and fun with the Wife to make up for it! Lol

Ok, time to upgrade my GPS for the hunt. Just an excuse, I have an old Garmin Etrex. (Original model). I am Looking at the Astro 430. I can use it with the hunt club, which runs dogs and I can use it for stuff like this. It comes with a 1 year subscription of Birdseye, it accepts onyx hunt chips.

Thoughts??

I think larger boat access is going to be very limited. I will not be bringing my Jon looking at the Picts on line of the access points it would be very cumbersome trying to load and off load onto a trailer. (This is a Lowes 1648) Canoe it is.

I had an etrex as well. Upgraded to a Garmin 64s last year and couldn't be happier. Using phone/app gps about jammed me up one night. Not much for signal down there.

Loving it! Third trip out yesterday. I've been crusing around with my trolling motor mostly right now. I love how stable it is. I was able to stand in knee deep water and just step up onto it with 1 foot, then pull the other up. I can stand up and navigate with the trolling motor too. I went fishing for an hour the first time out, the past 2 times have been all about developing a system, getting comfortable and getting it ready for hunting :D

Guys traveling through SC up I95.

I have two canoes and a Gheenoe if anyone needs for the hunt. I’ll have all equipment needed for manual propulsion of canoes. If anyone needs let me know. They’re nothing fancy but no leaks.

You will need to pick up since Donnie had to schedule hunt when I would be unable to attend. ;) . I stay right off i95 so will not be far out of the way.

@donnieballgame do you know if it would be any trouble for me to add a few extra nights to one of the spots you have reserved? My rental car cost more than my plane tickets and it's giving me the weekly price so I might as well just come for a week and get the extra hunting time in. If it won't be let me know. I'll have decided here in a couple days what I'm going to do, and I'll give you the dates that I'm buying my plane tickets for.

Yeah, of course you can stay a few days I'm probably doing the same. I will double check with the campground. Where are you flying into? Maybe someone could pick you up and save you the rental?
