You should look into casting. It is a whole peripheral hobby in itself and is a lot of fun. The benefits are self-reliance, customization, and cost savings (once you make enough to offset the cost of the molds and equipment). For 38, the classic round nose is the Lyman 358311.

For the 45 colt, the classic is the Lyman 454190. This profile is as close to the original slug brought out in 1873 as you can really get. It's been doing what it does for a long time. A great hunting profile for the colt is Lyman's 454424, an Elmer Keith design. Pushed at about 850 to 900 fps it will go lengthwise through a deer.
