Spur strap/buckle PSA. Don't make the same mistake.

Here you go guys. Looks like this may be the perfect bottom strap for spurs. No sewing required just put them through the bottom metal loop.

Perfect timing stole a set of climb rites off eBay today!

The 1.5 inch strap and plastic buckles works for me too on the top. The buckle is fully supported from behind on the top so it doesn't tend to slip. Using the same plastic buckle on the bottom I sometimes have the strap loosen slightly because it is not supported as well. I think the hooks that @flinginairos and @g2outdoors are using will stay tight better.

Just got my “new” to me used spurs today!! Got some Climb right ultra light pads on the way.
Shout out to flinginairos for the accessory strap idea for bottom of spurs!!! Climbed with them tonight and both spurs and straps worked flawlessly. Can’t wait to hunt with ‘em

Should there be any concern of the little tab breaking off while in use.

Just aluminum

Looks to me like a hot forged 7071 like most climbing biners are made from. I trust the rating on them and would say it’s higher than the plastic buckles I had been using. It’s not holding much weight either

I wasn't aware that it was rated at 220lbs, I don't see a problem with that. It seems the older I get the more safety conscious that I am, along with the work that I do they force-feed you safety.

I found some of the sea to summit straps and installed on my Buckinghams, now I need to figure out what I am going to do with the upper velcro straps

Cut and sew. That's what I did with those straps.

Sent from my Galaxy S8.

1.5” and plastic quick release buckles have worked fine for me

Any particular reason you did not go with a 2-inch strap and buckle
