SRT problems

I use 40 feet of 9mm Sterling and it only weighs 62 grams per meter (1.66 lbs) so the extra ten feet I wish I had sometimes is only .4 pounds. I'm all for the less weight and bulk of carrying less but sometimes the ideal place in the tree for the toss is a little higher than I want my setup and I can't reach....
 
Pick up a copy of "The Tree Climbers Companion" and check out page 22 and learn how to tie a pile hitch and a couple of half hitches to connect your throw line to your climbing line. You can pull your rope through a ring and ring friction saver if needed(meaning you can pull through some tight places using this technique.
