Still the best break up camo pattern to date.

Mossy Oak Treestand was a good one.

Wind direction and movement are the most important IME. But for camo patterns I like ASAT, predator fall gray or brown, and cabelas outfitter. Nothing too detailed, just break up the blob effect from a distance. ASAT leafy suit is great.

Other hunters dont wind you often.but if they see you, now they know where you are on to game at.i like to know where all the other huntets are hunting but dont want them knowing what i do.not just deer and hunters.i dont know how mountain lions see.....but i know i dont want them to see me when 4 of them are walking under me and im in a tree tied to it like the goat in jurasic park .plus i dont want the spot blown up by snitchmunks, snitchadies, crows, owls ,squirls, bobcats ,racoons...i dont claim to know how any of them see.but i know what stands out to me.

I haven't tried most camos and probably never will. Most camos are just eye candy made to appeal to hunters which is fine when you are up in a tree where actual camouflage is less needed. That's the main reason we hunt in trees as to hide from the deer's eyesight and wearing camo is just a secondary measure.

I do a lot of ground hunting and have found that the ASAT leafy suit works extremely well and is borderline cheating. Once you realize you don't have to try and hide behind something, your hunting perspective really changes. You are no longer a prisoner of the woods and can now hunt where you need to. The deer will look at you but not recognize you and once they deem you as a no-threat, they don't pay that much attention to you anymore and you can get by with movement. Once you convince the deer you aren't a threat, it is hard to make them change their mind.

That depends on how much cologne / deodorant you wear, or what kind of lunch you cook on your jet boil. But seriously, it’s amazing how many hunters I HAVE smelled before hearing or seeing them.

I've winded others hunters smoking; otherwise I've always seen or heard humans - or their scent wicks, or stands, or shooting lane cuttings, etc., before I smelled them.

I was about 12 feet up yesterday and had a buck check me out hard. I was mostly skylined - probably canopy behind me. ASAT jacket, ASAT balaclava with leafy hood. He didn't figure me out at all.
