I forgot you already shot one and I got really excited for the additional 14 points but that’s OK we keep adding to the lead!!

Well I had a few minutes. Every year we go up to our cabin the last 4 to 5 days of rifle season. Looking at weather it looked perfect with a nice cold front moving in. We scouted more miles than we ever have in the past just trying to learn new land/areas but after not seeing a deer for three straight days we were pulled to the fallback plan which is a couple hundred acres of private we have permission on. Needless to say that panned out. Found a lot of fresh tracks and feeding Friday morning but didn’t see anything. Went right back in at 2pm and at 4pm 6 doe walked up behind me. It was thick and with the snow melted I only saw one. Shot that one and they all scampered. I had 2 clean shots at two more so I let the .308 keep knocking them down. It was fun till the drag out but luckily I had help

Yeah, that sounds soo familiar.

My drag/float out this year was different. I was 'in the moment' and really, there was nowhere else I would have rather been. I was where I belong...

It's a little too close for comfort fellas. Who's got a doe tag they can still put points up with? :)

Regardless what a year for Team 13. We were always on pace and that one week in November we skyrocketed to 1st.

Who still has season left? Here in PA we have another 3 weeks approx. after Christmas. December 26th-January 17th I believe

Muzzleloader is currently in in MD. I plan on hunting this Friday morning and then Next Thursday/Friday/Saturday. After that Bow season is in until Jan 31, then we have a 3 day primitive season the first 3 days of Feb. I have a muzzleloader doe tag and a muzzleloader and bow buck tag left so there is a chance I can upgrade my buck but, I want three more deer for my freezer and neither of my boys have shown much interest in hunting this year so any standards I had are out the window.

How is late January hunting for you in MD? Being in PA I am looking to expand some of my hunting in the coming years. I know next September I am going to DE for maybe 3 days with some friends who live there. Ohio is on my list for a week in the rut, maybe 2023-2024. Need to check into that a bit more this year. I have a friend in the Annapolis area but he doesn't hunt anymore. Decent public land doe hunting in MD?

Dudes I got two does on public land in Indiana, but did not take a photo showing my saddle. Not enough whiskers on here to accept it at face value. Still have tags to fill and still hunting hard!! Late Archery in Indiana can be boom or bust! Good luck to you all

MD is broken up into two regions. I'm in Region A which is the 3 western most counties. We have significantly more land to hunt but, a little more pressure and less deer density. It can still be pretty good hunting after the woods calms back down from gun season. Region B is eastern MD, less land to hunt but more deer which is why you're allowed to kill something like 20 does with a bow down there compared to our two does through all seasons in Region A.

195 more posts and you can post them without the saddle and they will count. ;)

No biggie, they’re still in your freezer and we’re still winning

After Christmas late archery & muzzle loader season comes in here.
I have doe tags...

I didn't make it to Ohio yet.

@Hall17 I highly recommend both of those decisions. This was my first year in hunting in MD. You get to start hunting three weeks earlier which is worth the price of admission. I was figuring it out this year but found some good public about an hour and a half from our area. I am hunting eastern MD and it seems there are many deer even on public but I have limited experience.

Ohio is a whole new world of whitetail hunting. I never thought I’d shoot a 140 plus buck in my life, I now have a 157 and 133 thanks to OH with many years left to hunt. The deer are just bigger out there. Go for it!

I’ll hope to get another doe in the late season here in PA, and if im lucky a buck in MD.

What part of MD did you hunt?

@GCTerpfan I hunted Green Ridge (in the west) with my buddy in early season, and then for the most part was either in Prettyboy or Cecil County (in the east).

Greenridge is about an hour east of me but there's some really good bucks over there if you can find them. There used to be a member on here that killed several good ones there.
