Sorry fellas. Leaving you hanging was a pretty crappy thing to do. I have been a tad busy. Short story is two shots fired found one deer. Jumped the second heading out to find it now.

I ended up wandering back into an area of woods that has service, bumped multiple deer while scouting, one group into safety area/private, the other I put about 200 yards of stalking into a doe, only to have another hunter come walking in and spook her off, he was headed in the direction I wanted to go so I turned around decided to do a hang and hope for the last bit of daylight in the same place I shot a spike on opener. Saw a bunch of predator activity while scouting, dead deer and dead bird, not sure if I just happened on them or if the coyote population is growing here.

We tried to scout a few different places. I found one place I’m going to go pop up for a observation sit. Just to see. I love a bike. 10 mile gravel road. No one back there. 45 minute bike ride.
 
Congrats on onestringer! I'm with Lowg on That, 2 for 2 is pretty darn good!

Well I didn't see anything again tonight. Heard a couple decent branches snapped at the end but it might have been Bigfoot or something, or my imagination lol. They don't seem to be interested in any acorns I've been able to find. Some cut caps but tracks are scarce and droppings almost non existent where I'm finding mast dropping.

Question for the group. Do you want me to enter it as my second deer then upgrade when I get a buck or just wait till I get a buck?
 
I was wondering if a doe could be upgraded to buck. Your choice, might as well put a little pressure on and enter it I guess
 
Well, I had to abandon this afternoon/evening due to a cold. I got a tickle in my throat that I couldn't get rid of and had a coughing spell. Came home to rest. But I'm playing plotting my next move...
 
Had a lot of action this morning. Temps dropped overnight so I went out this morning. Had 3 deer come in about 9am, all fork bucks, but it was fun to watch them spar.

About 10am I had two doe come in but they wouldn't give me a good shot.

hope to be on the scoreboard soon.
 
Sorry I wasn't out at all this weekend my fellow Bambi Blasters. The college visit down in Tuscaloosa with the daughter was awesome and much needed (on both fronts)...and the game was a nailbiter!

I'll be back in the saddle this weekend trying to help the team along (and fill the freezer). Got a line on a couple decent bucks, but most likely another doe weekend.
