Team 2 is #1 - 2018 Thread

Well I got to a new spot that was supposed to be under the radar... 4 trucks and dudes rolling out.... So I just drove around to see where the pressure was, apparently the easy spots have nobody. I'll be out Tuesday night.

Congrats. I have one coming on the 26th. Hopefully we can still sneak out a day or 2 in the rut.
Haha, yeah, hopefully... My wife is awesome, but this is uncharted territory.

I took my daughter out last Saturday AM, nice cool morning but we didn’t see anything but birds.
All my kids were tied up Saturday afternoon, and I got a hall pass to go on my first solo of the season. Tried out my newly fabricated sitdrag, worked well! Let’s just say it was an eventful evening, the one shot in range was a fawn...it’s lucky my Son put meat in the freezer a few weeks ago

Opened today, 77* this morning, so I worked. 84* this pm, I mowed. Supposed to get hotter as the week rolls on but I'm heading out Wednesday evening and hit it pretty hard Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Same weather more or less here, supposed to cool back down a bit later in the week.

Yeah, we’ve been hammering the last several years from drought/blue tongue. It sure was nice to see proof of better numbers this year!

Opener was yesterday. Made a quick after work hunt and had two does come through at 30.

85 degrees and humid.... and only looks worse through this time next week. Plenty of low risk/ won't alter the rest of my season spots to burn through though, as long as I'm willing to sweat and fight the skeeters.

I'll start hunting Thursday the 11th. Start my week of midnights this Thursday night so I will probably miss the opener. Usually is too warm anyways. Season is open in wva and I'll be up there tomorrow but wont get any hunting done.

Like I said, I went this afternoon, 87* with a heat index of 97*. It was miserable. Ringing wet by the time I got set up. Between the flying vampires and those
no-see-m's there was really no way to keep still. THERMOCELL DID NOT DO ITS JOB! Got to see 1 squirrel and no snakes nor deer. HHHHHHOTTTTT!

Filmed my buddy take his first deer ever last night, it was awesome! Will edit the video this morning, then tonight is about getting more points on the board and meat in the freezer.
