Season finally opened this weekend for me. Did some scouting Friday and found a hot oak tree. Saturday at 11 am I got setup there after rain moved out. Between then and dark I had 5 doe's come through between 23 and 35 yards and never could get a shot because of bois d'arc limbs. This area Is EAB so I need a doe bad lol. Didnt see anything today, will try again next weekend
I'm heading out on Wednesday...should be good after this storm system goes thru
Hey @hokiehunter373 at least you're getting out there and trying. With my schedule I've only been able to get out the afternoon of the opener so don't be sorry. Unfortunately this happens but A for effort in my book! Keep your chin up and keep grindin'.
Bummer. You archery hunt long enough it happens though.
I also still have not gotten out but saw a giant yesterday when I was visiting my dad where I will be hunting in a few weeks... this is one of three I am after and all bigger than my biggest I have ever shot and all in the same woods, and even all together at times. An 8,11 and 12 and the size on the 8 is at least 20” and goes up with the other two depending on if your are talking with my dad or me, I say 24 and he says 28. Either way, big.
Later this week and next week I will be after some sika, the following hopefully over one of these big fellas back home

OK!! So the starter is in the truck, the Jeep has a new cooling system and 2 offroad trips are in the books....It's time to hunt. It is unheard for me to not hunt from opening day on but I took care of business while it was in the high 80s and 90s. Honestly this new "system" is going to take a minute to get dialed in, but it will happen. After self filming for 2 seasons, I know the DS.5 will help me cover all the bases. Wish me/ us luck!! I did the same thing...opening few days were to hot...so I waited for a cooler east wind day and saw my target buck yesterday. Plus a second buck sighting I don't have pictures of...I told myself well before the season no camera this yr...I'm going to stay focused on killing this big guy I call "fright Train" 3rd season and this will be the yr I put my tag on him....ill have to quarter him out - based on the location but my pack frame is ready for the job...I sat dark to dark yesterday...great memory for sure...Good Luck
Ok guys it's raining here tomorrow so I'm going to get aggressive and prep a tree 25 from this guys primary scrape....going to get aggressive during this nxt red moon faze...you have to be in the bedroom sometimes to get close...keep you posted

Good news and bad fellas. Got a sika this morning but where I was I couldn’t get into a tree so I was on the ground so it won’t count for the competition
So what's the bad news. Congratulations on the sika. Still alot of season left.
